American vs. European Music Industry Diversity

Speaker 1

Oh , okay , that's all right then that's cool . Yeah , All right excellent . I'm cool with zippers , so Anything with a hundred teeth that holds back a monster I'm okay with . What would you know about a monster ? Yeah , what has a hundred teeth and holds back . A monster .

Speaker 2

A zipper Zipper .

Speaker 3

My zipper . What the ?

Speaker 2

hell are you drinking ? What the hell is all over that ? Can my fingerprints Camouflage . Are you trying to hide your can ?

Speaker 3

No , why does it ?

Speaker 2

got camouflage on it .

Speaker 3

It's for hunters .

Speaker 2

Oh , so you're drinking a beverage while you're out there hunting ? Not while During .

Speaker 3

Sure .

Speaker 2

Oh , all right that doesn't sound really safe .

Speaker 3

Oh , so now we've got to be safe hunting .

Speaker 2

First it's safety week at work and now we've got to have safety hunting . You seem to really get into that safety crap at work with your beeping of your damn horn .

Speaker 3

That's fun .

Speaker 2

That's not fun for people to have to listen .

Speaker 3

Okay , why ?

Speaker 2

It's annoying .

Speaker 3

Therefore , I'm having fun . You're welcome Next Dick .

Speaker 2

Next .

Speaker 3

Yeah , what other bitch and complaint can I crush and maim for ?

Speaker 2

you , we'll just leave it alone at that .

Speaker 3

All right , we'll continue our it alone at that , all right .

Speaker 2

We'll continue our musical journey .

Speaker 3

I love music . Music is a universal language , if you know what I mean .

Speaker 2

It is .

Speaker 3

Yeah .

Speaker 2

Explain .

Speaker 3

It's just part of the song .

Speaker 2

Oh , so you're just copying other people .

Speaker 3

Well , no .

Speaker 2

Yes .

Speaker 3

I didn't copy anybody , I just remembered what they said .

Speaker 2

Plagiarism .

Speaker 3

No no .

Speaker 2

Okay , okay , biden .

Speaker 3

Oh , oh , wait a minute . Now you're saying Biden was a plagiarist .

Speaker 2

I may have heard a few things .

Speaker 3

Okay , first off , to be a plagiarist , you have to remember what someone said before . He doesn't even remember what he had for freaking breakfast . Someone wrote it down for him , so Plagiarism . He wrote it down for him because he doesn't know how to write first off , and even if he did , it wouldn't make any sense . How do you ?

Speaker 2

know he doesn't know how to write . He doesn't know how to write . Who told you he doesn't know how to talk ? Okay , anyways , back to music Sidetrack . We're going to discuss the difference between music in America and music in Europe and other countries .

Speaker 3

Oh , so question .

Speaker 2

I'll try to give you an answer .

Speaker 3

When are you going to Europe ?

Speaker 2

europe I would love to go to europe and go to some of those music festivals . I'll be honest when you're going I just know the music I hear from over . That way I get into more than uh again the cookie cutter shit over here again . Not that there's not any good bands , but but nobody's showing them . You've got to go dig for them .

Speaker 3

Yep , you've got to get out and look for them like we have . We found some pretty cool bands .

Speaker 2

Oh , they fall in our lap . That's awesome .

Speaker 3

Love Dirty Honey .

Speaker 2

Sometimes YouTube knows what they're doing .

Speaker 3

I actually listen to Dirty Honey , and I like that .

Speaker 2

They're very bluesy .

Speaker 3

Yes .

Speaker 2

Very bluesy rock and I do like that too .

Speaker 3

Anyway .

Speaker 2

Shout out to Dirty Honey .

Speaker 3

Hey , dirty , honey .

Speaker 2

Alright , here's the ways they're different . Market size and influence . The American music industry is the largest in the world , giving it considerable influence over global trends . American artists often dominate global charts and genres like pop , hip-hop , country have strong roots in the US . Yeah , oh , I thought maybe you wanted to add something , just yeah , okay . Well , european music industry . Europe is more fragmented , with various countries having their own dominant markets , such as UK , germany and France . While some European artists achieve global fame , the industry is most localized with different countries favoring different genres .

Speaker 3

Yeah , I mean , do people in Europe actually listen to country music ?

Speaker 2

That's a good question . I wonder , I mean that's a really good question . I'm sure they do . I'm sure there's some people that do . I wonder , I mean that's a really good question , I'm sure they do , I'm sure there's some people that do .

Speaker 3

I would like to hear they have places in Japan that play country music . Okay , what I would like to hear , though , is the language singing .

Speaker 2

Chattahoochee , they probably say it in English .

Speaker 3

Yeah , no , no , no , that's yeah .

Speaker 2

No , no , no , that's not English .

Speaker 3

No , no , it's not .

Speaker 2

But they'll play a lot of music .

Speaker 3

I put on .

Speaker 2

MTV from other countries and it's the same stuff we see .

Speaker 3

I bet it's like when we listen to Freddy Fender . Yeah , see .

Speaker 2

We hear it in Spanish Stuff like that .

Speaker 3

Yeah , I know , I know my stuff .

Speaker 2

What a strange question , but a good question , all right . Cultural diversity . Here we go again . American music industry Poor kids . While diverse , the US music scene is heavily influenced by mainstream pop culture , which tends to be homogenized . There are strong focus on commercial , often driving artists to appeal to broad audiences . See , that's that whole bullshit again . Yes , european , the Europe's music industry is more culturally diverse due to its many countries with distinct language traditions and musical style . This leads to a wider variety of genres . On maintaining cultural identity , the music genres in America , genres like pop , hip-hop , rock and country dominate . Hip-hop , in particular , has become a major cultural force in the US over the past few decades . This is true , you hear a lot of it .

Speaker 3

NFL pop .

Speaker 2

NFL pop .

Speaker 3

You know what it's called now the Taylor Swift craze , oh yeah , let's see Europe has a stronger presence of electronic music especially in countries like Germany , sweden and the Netherlands .

Speaker 2

Classical music also has deep roots in Europe , influencing contemporary genres in more subtle ways Symphonic rock , nightwish , Epica , those type of things . All right , now the industry structure is a little different . The industry is highly commercialized in the us , with a focus on major record labels like universal , warner and sony . Yeah , damn right . The rise of streaming spotify , apple music has also been heavily influenced by american companies , which we spoke about earlier on another podcast . Uh , the european music . While major labels also operate in Europe , there's a stronger presence of independent labels , especially in countries like the UK and Germany . European artists often have more creative control , partly due to different funding models , including state subsidies in some countries . Thoughts Goes back to what we say about cookie cutter over here .

Speaker 3

Yeah , it's all the same . Okay , I know you do this cringe when I bring up American .

Speaker 2

I fuck around with you . You know that .

Speaker 3

I know , but let's think about this it's , and lately been , more country-based , that's fine . They've brought in more country . Why ? Because all these kids have these idols that they're trying to mimic and they , oh , they sound like this , they sound like her , they sound like him . Oh , this is bad . That's why these kids are , because it's cookie-cutter . It's what people it's oversaturated . Exactly . Show me something different . Show me something different , give me someone different .

Speaker 2

Give me an alternative .

Speaker 2

Again and I know it's going to seem like I'm beating a dead horse on this , but the band the Warning , they have their own sound . I think that's why so many people are drawn to them . Yes , three girls , a band , rock band . But if you listen to their lyrics , their music , it's a different sound and it brings back the word alternative . Well , to me it goes back to the 80s . I'm not comparing it to the 80s because they got a lot of influences in their music , right , but it's different . It's like when Van Halen first came out you were like or Boston , when you first time you heard Boston , more than a feeling , it's like holy crap , what the hell is this ? That kind of music , those kind of songs ? I'm sure there's country songs like that , that grabbed you by the hoo-ha .

Speaker 3

Yeah , I've got one right here in my mind . I'm good at drinking beer .

Speaker 2

I know that .

Speaker 3

Yeah , that's the name of the song .

Speaker 2

Oh , oh , oh .

Speaker 3

It highlighted a lot of my life .

Speaker 2

Who sings this ?

Speaker 3

See there once again . I do not know . I know the song .

Speaker 2

I drink a beer .

Speaker 3

I'm not good at .

Speaker 2

I drink alone .

Speaker 3

Oh , I know that one too , unfortunately .

Speaker 2

Oh , George Thorogood .

Speaker 3

Yeah , every song he has is the same , the same , pretty much .

Speaker 2

It's got that , let's see .

Speaker 3

I mean , it doesn't take an idiot to write something like that .

Speaker 2

No , but the lyrics are different . Wait a minute . A C D C .

Speaker 3

Yeah , like that no , but the lyrics are different when it's .

Speaker 2

ACDC Back in Black . They get the same sound , but they're good . Yep , and I don't mean every song sounds the same , but let's be realistic . Yeah , and I'm not knocking ACDC .

Speaker 3

Everybody knows what we're talking about .

Speaker 2

Everybody loves ACDC too .

Speaker 3

Yes , exactly Pink Floyd , Alright .

Speaker 2

I want to talk about difference in , because this one really kind of ticks me off . The music festivals and live performances . Okay , you watch some of these things now , maybe back in the day the U ? S festival in California . Europe . It seems to have these awesome festivals , but different genres . They don't cater to one thing . It's not a big . You want ? I talked about it last podcast podcast a couple ago with the phones .

Speaker 2

Right you watch a lot of the European festivals . You don't see people with their phones . They're in there enjoying the moment , right it's ? It's not a big deal . There's a lot of camaraderie . Camaraderie there , people just having fun getting together .

Speaker 1

It's a whole different thing .

Speaker 2

It's me , me , me . Look at me . I'm going to tape this , I'm going to put this on social media .

Speaker 3

Yeah , look what you didn't get to go watch and I did blah , blah , blah . It's like they don't .

Speaker 2

You went there .

Speaker 3

First off , first off , and post proof that your friends all think you're a liar anyway . So oh well , who cares Exactly ? Move on .

Speaker 2

Here we go . The US hosts massive festivals like Coachella , lollapalooza and Southwest , I think , which are major industry events . I think that's more like Tronic Music won yeah .

Speaker 2

Tech no

The Music Industry

Speaker 2

Essex . European music in Europe is known for its extensive festival scene , with events like Glastonbury Tomorrowland and Rock Idol . European festivals often have more diverse lineup , reflecting what I just said , reflecting the continent's culture of diversity . Let's see how the distribution and promotion goes in American music . In America , there's a significant focus on digital platforms and mainstream media . Social media , streaming and radio play are critical for an artist's success . European , while digital platforms are also important , traditional media like television and local radio will play a significant role . European artists may rely more on touring and live performance for exposure , which I totally love .

Speaker 3

Right .

Speaker 2

Any questions or any responses to that shit ? I'm just saying . Are you seeing the ?

Speaker 3

differences , though there are a lot of differences . It seems to me that America is more about the money . It's all about what can I get from you ? It's true .

Speaker 2

And that's just like bands and everybody .

Speaker 3

Right and Europe is like . Most of their are free . A lot of theirs are free .

Speaker 2

They're either free or they're reasonably priced compared to prices over here .

Speaker 3

Yeah , over here you see four or five bands . You're going to pay over a hundred bucks .

Speaker 2

Oh , you're going to pay a lot more than that .

Speaker 3

Really , oh yeah , see , I've not been to a band Like Rockville Daytona , you're spending hundreds , if not thousands to go , and I have a buddy that's a huge Eagles fan and one of your lists had the Eagles on one of them and they are a great band . Still , even yet , without a couple of the people .

Speaker 2

Not a lot of them .

Speaker 3

But anyway .

Speaker 2

I think Don Henley is the only original player .

Speaker 3

They spent so much money . I think Don Henley is the only original player they spent so much money , I think $900 a ticket .

Speaker 2

Oh yeah , if not more .

Speaker 3

And he took his dad to this concert in Charlotte for $900 a piece . I'm like man , but they were both . And now his dad's gone and he's got this sentimental thing for it . That's great , and I would pay hundreds of dollars for that myself .

Speaker 2

For that moment with your dad and stuff or your mom , whatever .

Speaker 3

Who's got yeah ?

Speaker 2

Exactly Tom . Yeah , but anyway I thought that was the cool part about it , but anyway , I still think America is more money Money-driven .

Speaker 3

Well , it's not so much the artists .

Speaker 2

Money-driven . It's sad . It's not so much the artists .

Speaker 3

The artists get screwed most of them , yeah , all the way around .

Speaker 2

There's some that just want , just for the money .

Speaker 3

In the past . As we said , they get screwed from this side and that side . Look , we're drawing a crowd for you to sell your concessions , for you to sell your seats , you to sell your concessions , for you to sell your seats , for you to fill your and cover your costs of all the insurances and stuff you've got to buy . We're drawing a crowd so you can cover this . Why do you need for ?

Speaker 2

me . Here's where the problem lies they're not drawing the crowd . The younger bands , they're there to fill spots . It's the bigger people Like I go to see . Let's just throw up a band . Let's see Tom Petty's playing somewhere , right , all right , tom Petty's great . There's always that Local band . Maybe there's a good band that opens , but there's always . Sometimes there's three bands , and that's usually a local band . They pick up somewhere .

Speaker 3

Right . Usually a local band they pick up somewhere .

Speaker 2

That's where I think it's . If you're U2 and you're traveling , fine , you should give up 5 , 6 , 7% of your merchandise Yep , because , yes , they're drawing a crowd . A band like U2 makes a lot of money touring , oh yeah . So there , I can understand some of it , but it's the smaller bands with the smaller venues . That's where it bugs me . But you know it's up for debate on everything . Let's see what regulations and policies they have . In America , the industry is less regulated in terms of content and a strong emphasis on freedom of expression . However , it is also more litigious , especially regarding intellectual property . European Different countries have varying levels of regulation , with some countries having quotas for local content on radio and TV . The EU also has specific regulations around digital music distribution and copyright . Wow , Wow that's crazy , I did not know that .

Speaker 2

I just learned something there that's crazy . Some crazy-ass stuff is right . So basically we could say right now , unfortunately and not important , streaming is dominant right now it really is streaming is the dominant force . Remember the days where you could buy that album or that 45 . You couldn't wait to get home and crackle right before that song .

Speaker 2

You were waiting to hear that and you could just hear everything . And then it went to . Once it cassettes were fine , but eight tracks . We had those two albums , but then CDs came out and I'm like , yeah , but you listen to it . And then you listen to the album . It's so compressed .

Speaker 3

Oh , I know .

Speaker 2

You miss out on certain elements of the music . Well , vinyl is making a resurgence .

Speaker 3

I see that For years now it has been .

Speaker 2

And pretty reasonably priced . But you gotta figure Albums how they're made . It's an oil type based product and , thanks to , once again , biden administration , things are high . So you're not gonna pay anywhere from $20 to $25 an album . But hey , you paid $10 back and whatever . So Exactly . Some of them are even more than that . Now , live music and touring helps out .

Speaker 2

Yeah yeah , and I notice a lot of bands like the Warning Nightwish , your band there we talked about last week . Oh yeah , these people are all better . I like Studio . They really are . I like studio . Now there's some bands I've gone to see and I go what the hell . This doesn't sound anything like the album ?

Speaker 3

Are these the ?

Speaker 2

real people . This sounds like they came to play music .

Speaker 3

Bo Cephas . I have to tell you I was so very disappointed . I was expecting Bo Cephas .

Speaker 2

And who'd you get drunk ? I got Bo and Bo Cephas . And who'd you get Drunk ? I got Bo Come on man .

Speaker 3

What the hell happened ? Oh , I don't know . Somebody killed a chicken and it was over from there . I don't know . I heard him squawking on the stage .

Speaker 2

Did he come up shit-faced ?

Speaker 3

I just , it was not .

Speaker 2

It was terrible .

Speaker 3

It was horrible . Oh , that sucks , but thank God 38 Special and the other bands and everything .

Speaker 2

I like 38 Special .

Speaker 3

Yeah , and they were there and of course we all went to see Southern Rock and it's Skinnered Okay . We all went to see Skinnered . I helped you out there . Yeah , I know it's getting a little late . I get it we can edit . No problem , thank you no problems .

Speaker 2

Thank you , no problems , but let's see .

Speaker 3

I'm starting to sound like Milton .

Speaker 2

Berle .

Speaker 3

No , that's yeah . What was that dude's name ? Foster Brooks . Foster Brooks , People are going to be going .

Speaker 2

Who the hell is Foster ? Google it . Folks Google it , check him out . Funny as hell . So , anyways , back to the live music and touring . The music sector is rebounding after COVID now , thank God . Shows with no shows suck . Let's see Severely impacted tours and festivals . Major artists are returning to the road with 2023 and 2024 . Seeing some of the largest and most lucrative tours in history Challenges , however , rising costs , ticket pricing issues and the ongoing debate over dynamic pricing models . That's the problem , right there where you pay your money .

Speaker 2

Yep pricing models , and Ticketmaster has a monopoly on this shit .

Speaker 3

Well , there is no Ticketmaster anymore .

Speaker 2

We'll talk about that crap another time .

Speaker 3

You know , okay here , yeah , another time I'll bring this up right now . I want you to remember we need to go to this Tickets to go to sporting events .

Speaker 2

Right .

Speaker 3

If you don't have internet access , you're not going .

Speaker 2

Yeah , you're kind of fucked you can't print out your ticket .

Speaker 3

That sucks to people who don't know anything about internet .

Speaker 2

That's discriminatory .

Speaker 3

I think so .

Speaker 2

Well , go to your library , they have computers .

Speaker 3

Okay , if I don't have Internet to begin with .

Speaker 2

I don't know how to use it . I guarantee you everybody's got a damn cell phone .

Speaker 3

Good point , not everybody .

Speaker 2

Well , pretty much everybody .

Speaker 3

Well , have you ever looked at the Whitakers in West Virginia ?

Speaker 2

Yeah , and I don't know that one house looks like it's getting pretty stocked up with a lot of good technology there . Yeah , anyway , anyway . So okay , now days two , we have the emergence of AI technology . Oh , we love AI . We do love AI , good old .

Speaker 3

Troy .

Speaker 2

Certain age . Leave Troy alone . Man , all right . Ai is increasingly being used in the music production , from generating beats to even composing entire

Technological Transformation in the Music Industry

Speaker 2

tracks . Oh , wait a minute . Now . That's all well and good , that's fine , you and me screwing around doing stuff . I'm going to pay this guy that got on the computer and did the same thing I could have .

Speaker 3

I'm asking a question here too .

Speaker 2

Raise your hand and did the same thing I could have . I'm asking a question here too .

Speaker 3

Oh , you didn't , no , but what you just said , makes a great point .

Speaker 2

What's that ?

Speaker 3

Back in the 80s we all had a fit over a couple of guys who lip synced Billy .

Speaker 2

Manili yeah no , it's Billy Vanilli . It's Billy Vanilli . We won't go back to that again .

Speaker 3

But anyway , what's so different ? Oh , now it's all right to do .

Speaker 2

It's all right , now it's okay . Well , now it's sort of like They'll probably still sing , but they have the song made up , the lyrics made up for them .

Speaker 3

They can put the music in . It's sort of like I'm defunding the police . Oh , I never said that .

Speaker 2

Okay .

Speaker 3

Why are we going back to camel toe again ? I'm just saying it's the same thing , oh .

Speaker 2

I know , but anyways , any . No , thank you . Okay , this is sparking conversations about the role of technology and creativity and potential implications for human artists . Virtual and augmented reality , vr and AR technologies are being explored for virtual concerts . Yeah , have technologies are being explored for virtual concerts ? Yeah , have you heard this ? A virtual concert ? Let me finish and we'll go in An immersive music experience offering new ways for fans to interact with their favorite artists .

Speaker 3

Yes , Are you kidding ? Me , so now it's not bad enough that I need a , you can see a hologram of your favorite artists .

Speaker 2

They could be here . See a hologram of your favorite artists . They could be here , they could be there , they could be everywhere all at once doing a concert . A hologram . They did this with ABBA , they did this with Dio . No , I'm telling you , why are they ? I'm going to go see Dio . No , this is a hologram . Yeah , see , there's a band , but he's a hologram .

Speaker 3

Yeah , that's crazy .

Speaker 2

That's really crazy .

Speaker 3

I love Dio .

Speaker 2

I do love Dio , but no , no , no , I'm not paying money for that shit . Yeah , here's another social media influence that helps out bands . Tiktok has become a powerful tool for the music discovery , with viral trends of the platform often propelling songs to the top of the charts . This has changed the way the hits are made . Many artists and labels are now focusing on creating TikTok-friendly content . I'll be honest I don't have TikTok at all and I don't care to get TikTok .

Speaker 3

TikTok-friendly Psst .

Speaker 2

I don't like TikTok .

Speaker 3

I have never had TikTok . Nope , I will never have TikTok . As a matter of fact , let me just explain something .

Speaker 2

I don't have Snapchat , none of that crap .

Speaker 3

What's that ?

Speaker 2

Yeah , exactly .

Speaker 3

I will probably watch an episode of the View before I'll have TikTok .

Speaker 2

That'd be a tough one . I'd have to really think about that deep .

Speaker 3

No thinking .

Speaker 2

Now see YouTube . That's where I find out all different shit for me .

Speaker 3

Me too .

Speaker 2

Fans and stuff . Okay , so anyways , fan engagement Artists are leveraging social media platforms to engage with fans directly , build their brands and promote their work . The rise of platforms like Patreon and OnlyFans in the music space Tom hold up for a minute Also highlights the shift towards direct fan-artist relationships . Go , okay .

Speaker 3

Let's go shift towards direct fan-artist relationships . Go , okay , let's go back to this fans , only thing , only fans , oh , only fans . Well , I thought we weren't going to bring up anything like that this is talking about music , though . Okay , well , music's sexual , sexual healing , oh come on .

Speaker 2

Why do you got to go there ?

Speaker 3

I didn't go there . Lionel did , wasn't that Lionel ?

Speaker 2

Lionel , no Marvin Gaye .

Speaker 3

Yeah , well see .

Speaker 2

Marvin Gaye .

Speaker 3

Name says it all . Anyway , go ahead .

Speaker 2

He wasn't gay at all Anyway .

Speaker 3

Well , he wasn't hurt sexually either .

Speaker 2

All righty , Tom . On that note , we'll continue . Indie artists and DIY culture Rise of independent artists . The barriers to the entry in the music industry have lowered significantly , allowing more independent artists to find success without major labor support . Good for them .

Speaker 3

Yay .

Speaker 2

Tools like DistroKid and Bandcamp yeah , bandcamp , we already heard about them Enable artists to distribute their music and earn revenue directly .

Speaker 3

They have wonderful beans .

Speaker 2

Yeah , creative Control . The shift has empowered artists to maintain creative control and build a niche audience .

Speaker 3

They found their niche .

Speaker 2

Not in the corner .

Speaker 3

That's an indigent in the wall .

Speaker 2

It also requires them to handle more aspects of their careers for marketing and distribution . That's all right . You own it , you run it , you do it , Do it your own way . And again we get back to the royalties and copyright . The issue continues to grapple with issues related to royalties , copyright infringement and the protection of intellectual property , especially the digital age . What's environmental concerns ? Sustainability has become a topic of discussion , Particularly regarding the environmental impact of touring . Merchandise production and physical media Must be that Green New Deal crap again . Overall , the US music industry is navigating a period of significant transformation , Driven by technological advancements , changing consumer behaviors and a broader push for fairness and diversity within the industry . Why is diversity always going to come up ? Just play your music . But you know , hey , I find this shit interesting . I really do .

Speaker 3

Yeah , and the next time you buy a ticket and wonder how come you're paying $800 to go see some shit .

Speaker 2

Now you know .

Speaker 3

Now you know why .

Speaker 2

Everybody's got to get a piece of the pie . Poor band probably gets a small percentage of that big price .

Speaker 3

Yeah , that's why that one comedian .

Speaker 2

It takes us down a different road which I always get into music . But I never looked at the business side of music . I heard stories . This is what got me down this little rabbit hole .

Speaker 3

Sorry if I bored everybody , but it's very interesting to me it is interesting , so it'll make me do a little bit more research on who I'm listening to and exactly you know you should , especially those independent bands yeah , yeah , and a lot of them are just independent because Morning Dirty Honey . Yeah , and they're independent because they refuse to make cookie-cutter music like the Enterprise wants them to .

Speaker 2

Exactly Well even like the morning they said when they came in , people wanted to change them . Well , let's do this with you . No , we're going to stick to our true selves they didn't need them . Nope , they did not .

Speaker 3

They did fine on their own .

Speaker 2

People talk . People are the ones who are voting this stuff .

Speaker 3

And bringing that up .

Speaker 2

I've been in sales , Not some suit in an office somewhere telling me what I've got to listen to .

Speaker 3

I have been in sales for many , many , many years and the first thing we learn is if someone is happy with your product , they're going to tell a couple .

Speaker 2

And so on .

Speaker 3

If someone is unhappy , they're going to tell everybody . They know about that .

Speaker 2

That's true . If not write up .

Speaker 3

Don't be that thing that they're unhappy about .

Speaker 2

See , this is a thing . It goes back to when I had my business . I never advertised .

Speaker 3

No , you don't . You don't have to .

Speaker 2

Call Mike . Call Mike at KC .

Speaker 3

Speaker 2

Oh , I hope Mike comes . Yep , that's me . I'm the one who's going .

Speaker 3

Speaker 2

Speaker 3

Speaker 2

Take ourselves a little break , give them a little air time .

Speaker 3

It's a bit to be in here . Drag them in . No , you don't . All you guys usually mention little guys . They're already dumping coffee and zipping their pants .

Speaker 2

Let's go Wait a minute .

Speaker 3

Yeah , I'm not even going to ask . All right , we'll go grab them . Oh don't , I'd be careful , but anyway yeah .

Speaker 4

Hey , hey , little dude buddy . Hey , hey , what little dude buddy ? Hey , hey , little dude buddy , what the hell's that sound ? Well , it sounds like a damn Gilligan Island episode . Hey , little buddy , hey , little buddy . Yeah , and I hit you with my hat . You can call me Skipper , nope , oh , okay , anyways , skip across that if you don't mind .

Speaker 4

What's with this musical journey these people are on lately ? I don't know . It makes me want to sing , makes me want to play an instrument . No , don't go there . Anyway , yes , thank you . Are you in a good mood ? Nope , thank you . Okay , cool , oh , no , I was answering the other question first , oh , but am I ?

Speaker 4

Was answering the other question first , oh , but am I in a good mood ? Yeah , nope , why ? Why would I be ? You don't have to be . But I'm asking if you are , and I told you Nope , then why aren't you ? Why would I be ? Well , why wouldn't you be ? Are we going to do this ? The whole episode ? Pretty much , okay . Why would I be ? Why wouldn't you be ? Nope , that makes no sense . Okay , see , it doesn't make any sense .

Speaker 4

You don't have to be pissed off all the time . Oh , well , okay , I had a date the other night . Okay , same damn thing . What happened . You don't have to be pissed off . Oh God . So you're going to be whining ? I ain't whining , sounds like it . I just told you about a bad date . I have a question . Oh boy , this is a serious question . Okay , we all know I'm serious .

I'm stepping in lava . I asked my little , I can't walk here , wait a minute , let me finish . I asked my buddy .

Speaker 4

Hey , give me a ride , that's what she said Wait a minute , let me finish . So I said can I get a ride with you ? I'm in lava . He said , no , that's right . Why ? It's a safety issue , that's why . But I'm in lava , well why ? Because it wasn't there . But all of a sudden it was there . Well , that's kind of how volcanoes work . Well , I wasn't warned . They've been there for 16 centuries . All of a sudden I wasn't warned . Oh no , virgin .

Speaker 4

Well , what do you think's gonna happen when you don't have any sick Eruption ? There should be signs warning me . There are . Where are they ? The hardening of the tool should be the first warning of an eruption's about to happen . Wait a minute . The hardening of the tool should be the first warning of eruptions about to happen . Wait a minute . The hardening of the tool , yes . What are we talking about here ? Eruptions , oh , I thought you said erections . No , well , that's one of the warnings I'm trying to give you . Ah , yeah , see , there's no warnings . There's no warnings . First warning . You better look out . Eruption's about to happen , okay , but there's no lava . That's what the eruption is . No , that's , that's no , I'm talking real lava . Oh , on the floor . Yes , well , stupid .

Speaker 4

You should have stayed on your machine when you're in a video game and there's lava all of a sudden Like that yeah , but why wasn't it there and why wouldn't you help me ? Why ? Okay , so me burning isn't a safety issue what ? No , it's not , it sure is for me . Well , that's because they teach us not to handle the fire extinguisher if we don't train . So you got to have to burn . Sorry , I gotta go outside . All you had to do was put me on the old forks of the machine and just take me out . No , that's unsafe . No , not really .

Speaker 4

Okay , have you ever been at a pond that said no swimming , yeah , Okay . So what'd you do ? Go swimming ? No , said no swimming , okay . Well , let's ask you this what if ? Hear me out , what if , okay , a little boy goes swimming , anyway , right , and he starts to drown ? You gonna let him drown ? Yes , why ? Because it said no swimming , okay , why would you want me to pick you up out of the lava ? But I'm kidding , I would definitely save that kid .

Speaker 4

Uh , now , oh , now you sound like a true leftist . Switch your mind for whatever somebody wants to hear . Oh , yeah , wait a minute . Have you seen that video of somebody talking in one area to a certain authenticity and then talking to another authenticity , oh , with a different accent . Oh boy , that pissed me off . What a liar , what a frickin' . I'm a sheep in wolf clothes . She has like four different accents . Yeah , personalities , yeah , I know I got more than that , oh my God . Well , she's at this point . She's African American , yes . Indian , yes , indian , yes . We're not sure if that's Pow Pow Indian or 7-Eleven by Beef Jerky Indian . Yet Okay .

Speaker 4

And if that's offensive , cut it out . But anyway , I'm not sure , but we're probably overrated . Anyway , we can say anything we want . Yeah , we don't care about those other two . Yeah Well , anyway . Okay , yeah , we don't care about those other two . Yeah Well anyway . Okay Well , that's not good . Anyway , I'm just mad . You seem very uptight . No , no , no , no , no , no , no . Not dead puppies , that song . Think about cuddly puppies . Oh , cuddly puppies . I have one of those at my house . See , now you're all happy . Yeah well , not really . Why she bit me ? Why , well , I guess because she don't like cuddling . So can we talk about something else ? Oh , could you do like squeeze the crap out of her ? Oh , if only I could , I wouldn't have to take her out anymore .

Speaker 1

Good , point Hold her over a bucket .

Speaker 4

Squeeze her right over the toilet . Yeah , hang her out the window , give her a little squeeze . Don't even have to stop at the park no more . Oh , that's awesome . Yeah , that's awful . That's mean too , yeah , well , especially to me . I have to wash that shit off the side of the car when I get home .

Speaker 4

What they doing on the side of the car . Well , if you hold the dog out the window doing 60 and squeeze , it's going to get all over the side of the car . Whoa , whoa . Why are you squeezing the dog out the window driving ? Are you not listening ? Can you not stop ? No , why ? Because every time we stop to park we're there an hour . Why ? Because the dog won't get back in the damn car . Why don't you squeeze the dog when you get out of the car ? I can't catch him . That's why we don't get out . He's got a leash . No , you're not good at this dog thing , are you Listen , if you ?

Speaker 4

Jesus , okay , I suppose you're one of them , parents that have your kid on a leash in a damn mall I'm a dog whisperer , by the way . Parents , I want you to tell that is the dumbest damn thing I've ever seen . What's that ? A little kid tied to a leash ? No wonder they think they're damn birdsies or whatever the hell . That's the greatest invention . Yeah , invention .

Speaker 4

Let's find something to . Oh , we like S&M . Let's find something that involves the children . Think of it , bunch of perverts . Think of it , bunch of perverts . Think of it as tethering your kid . Yeah , that's better . Let me tether you to the wall and you watch me and Mom over here whip each other Bunch of S&M crap . If you ask me , that's not healthy . When you're in space and you come out of the spaceship , you're tethered . That's fun . When did I go to space ? Not you Astronauts . I don't care if they're tethered or not . If they want to be perverted and tether themselves to some of them , I don't care . But don't do your children like that . They don't have a choice . You're looking at this all wrong and I'm going to end this now . Thank you , yes , maybe not . Hopefully you'll come back with a better attitude . Better attitude , yeah , tether me to the moon , okay , bye .

They're the only ones that really ever became big rock stars , but uh , because they sang about it , but anyway yeah , I get it .
