Small Talk And Knee Update

SPEAKER_02

Hey, hey, Tom. What's going on, bud? What's up, Mike? Uh, just another beautiful day, hey Tom.

SPEAKER_01

Carolinas. Another beautiful day. Partly cloudy, but beautiful. We do need rain, bud. We do need the rain. Oh, I wish it would. I've got boxes to burn at the house. They got a burn bang going on.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, they do. I got shit to burn. Just regular shit. Not shit that comes out of your ass shit.

SPEAKER_01

Well, it depends. I don't wear the pens either.

SPEAKER_02

Makes it easier to collect. Let's get to the main subject. How's that knee doing? It's it's holding me up. You will be coming back to work in six weeks. No, in Monday. I heard you say six weeks. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

That's what I told Marley. She about dropped everything. Why do you think I waited until you were in the cage?

SPEAKER_02

Rage in the cage. The bond's back. Yeah, great. I hope he's gonna like crap his pants when he gets in and she's all fifty-two wide open. But uh let's get into uh The Doom and Gloom.

Quick Headlines And Conspiracy Chatter

SPEAKER_02

The doom and gloom. Yeah, let's get into uh little segment of uh news. Yeah. Depressing talk.

SPEAKER_01

If you can even believe it.

SPEAKER_02

Well the good thing is I guess I ran in uh USR meeting today, so we've been meeting for how many days? So doing that, I guess uh what dancers over there? Yeah. Right. So, anyways, peace talks are going on, so we'll see what happens.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I do know that gas dropped, you know, a good ten cent today.

SPEAKER_02

I I was paying um well, only I was paying 381. And I went by yesterday, it was 392. I was like, what the hell?

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_02

So hopefully it went down. But hey, you know, here we go again with the set those prices.

SPEAKER_01

This is the summer gas.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Hungary's national election is tightening. Well, we got some stuff going on in Hungary that I don't really care about. Oh. U.S. Postal Service is seeking to raise stamp prices again. Again. A big financial difficulty. Aren't they like a dollar now for a stamp? Pretty close. It's getting up there. You might be right. But I'll tell you, see another government agency that can't run right. Yeah. Well, how many people are actually mail shit nowadays? Okay. You two premium. Oh, prices are increasing for the U.S. later this year. That'll pay for that, so that's fine. Oh, here we go. Interesting. Okay. Stabbing and shooting incident at Grand Central Terminal in New York injured several people. The suspect was hospitalized in critical condition. I should look more into that. I wonder how we get shot. Or did he get shot? NASA's Artemis II crew safely returned to Earth, marking a milestone in human spaceflight.

SPEAKER_01

See, did you hear all the little hubbub about that where they zip lined out of there before the thing ever took off, they weren't even on there? There's a lot of that. It's always going to be those conspiracies. Conspiracy theirstrap.

SPEAKER_02

When they shot a picture of the moon and earth, oh, that's not real. The world's flat. Flat earthquakes. All right, watch this. New scientific research this week includes breakthroughs and understand understanding rare COVID-19 vaccine blood clots and potential advances in case cancer detection and treatment. Here's the thing, don't get the shot. Maybe you won't have those blood clots.

SPEAKER_01

Didn't we all say this like three years ago?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Four years ago. Let's see. What else?

SPEAKER_01

Seven years ago, sorry.

SPEAKER_02

Baseball we're not into that.

SPEAKER_01

I'm not I don't do baseball very much. I used to I play baseball too. Oh, I did too. Trevor Burrus, Jr. Well, not anymore because I can't keep up with the ball.

SPEAKER_02

No, but I mean even getting out there and just screw it around. But watching it bores me to tears. When I first won the World Series, finally, I watched that.

SPEAKER_01

After that was like Yeah, I kind of gave up on him when old Pete Rose just can't be in the Hall of Fame because I got feelings about that anyway.

SPEAKER_02

I do too.

SPEAKER_01

That's uh That's neither here nor there.

SPEAKER_02

It's above our pay grade, right? Yep. So Okay. Let's get into the fun stuff now.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, fun stuff.

SPEAKER_02

Another band I'm into.

SPEAKER_01

We're gonna take a break again. Oh, not that fun stuff. Okay. Not that fun stuff. Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_02

That's enough fun stuff for right now. Okay.

Discovering Black Swan’s Big Sound

SPEAKER_02

No, uh, another band I've been getting into lately. Right. Not really a new band again. But not an old band either. Now the players? Yes. The band's called Black Swan. Yeah. Uh they're a rock supergroup. They consist of uh Robin McCauley from Michael Shanker group, uh Red Beach, who's with originally with Winger, to cast the winger. Oh yeah. I know who they are. No, no, Matt Stop. He played with Mr. Biggs. Oh, okay. Oh, so it's not a super group. Uh it's got Rob McCauley Tonk. He's been around Macaulay Punk group back in the late 80s. Great voice. He's 77 years old and still rocks out. His voice is amazing. I mean, you look at people like let's say I know we're all rock um not a guy, but it's a mock group. Never go great anyway. But at least try. This guy, uh Rob McCauley, I'm telling you, great pipe. It's a good sound, it's good to hear that sound again because uh kind of like back to the 80s, but a little more modernized. Which I really like. Uh a little more grown. Yeah, a little more grown up 70 young guys either. Like freaking like back in the 30s again, right? 2030s? Right. But uh, little uh uh original concept. Black uh uh Black Plum has formed as a project bringing together season rock veterans to create fresh melodic hard rock with strong music at the top of both uh the album Shake the World they did in 2020 introduced the classic hard rock style. Uh next one generation mine, uh 2022 helped define the signature sounds. Paralyze came with the latest album. Paralyze came out with the functions music something or whatever, featuring tracks like I'm ready. Style and reputation. Music plays melodic for Hard Rock energy, and showcasing veteran players creating contemporary classic rock sounds. Appealing to fans of 80s, 90s, Rock Mod uh Rock and Modern Hot Rock alive. So, you know, I let you listen to some of the old um Macaulay how he sounded, and then I let you last week uh listen to a little bit of the newer stuff, but uh you gotta get really filled. Kudos for him. Uh yeah. There's other bands that have been called Black Swan, I found out. Oh, there's a finished band. Uh melodic black metal band. Oh, there's another ambient experimental app from New York for that.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, they're pronounced. Yeah, they're experimental.

SPEAKER_02

Yep, so anyways, uh the idea for Black Swan came about when Jeff Tilton was approached that's the guy from Doc and it's an Italian label known for Melodic Rock projects to assemble a new group around Robin Macaulay's powerful book. Filter brought together guitar from a map star and Macaulay to create a project that would point classic 80. Macaulay create a project that would bring classic 85 rock and then you do a modern song right now. Uh questions before I move on to band members.

SPEAKER_01

No, actually everything's caught on. Okay.

SPEAKER_02

I just don't know if you wanted to ask whether I'll be questions for him.

SPEAKER_01

Oh uh. Oh, it's I've I've heard him and he's just uh you know, he's got that voice just like uh um Stephen Tyler. Stephen Tyler. Yeah, yeah, somewhat. The the just uh I mean when you're talented like that, that's just like insane.

SPEAKER_02

Uh so uh Bob Macaulay Rebo, though he's an Irish singer, best known for his work on Macaulay Shanker group. That's Michael Shanker. Bob Rudolph Shanker plays for Scorpion. Michael Shanker also played for UFO. Anyway, moving on. Red Beast guitar, American Hard Rock guitar stone for Winger, and alongside your white.

SPEAKER_01

So uh then So he he probably was the drummer for a freely single album, maybe?

SPEAKER_02

Probably it was a tour drummer form, and that probably played on some albums, too. I'm not sure I didn't look into it that much. I'll be honest, Jeff Pilson I knew because I followed Doc and Crypto, right? Bob Macaulay I knew. And that beats because he was a winner. My cousin Jeff. I thought my friend Bob thought he was a good guitar, so his game was always dried up among with others. But yeah, yeah, they had their albums, check their albums out, people get music if you like 80s rock. Yeah. But it's up to it sounds up to date. But uh Yeah, anybody who loves that rock, I know I do. Get sick of listening to the same things all the time, so I get something newer to listen to. If you haven't heard of him already.

SPEAKER_01

Exactly that I had, and uh I love that type of 80 big air sound. He still sounds that way.

SPEAKER_02

Guys, like I said, the whole band sounds tight and great. Again, they've also been around the they've all been around the block. So check them out, Black Swan, and check out the other groups, Doc and uh Kali Shanka group. Yeah, UFO, really some UFO, check out all that stuff. I'll go back to that band. Anyways, I think now's a good time to we'll end right there. We'll be back with some music stuff after the little dudes.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Got some other good stuff to talk about, Tom. Cool. So, folks, we'll be right back at the little dudes.

The Little Dudes Detour

SPEAKER_03

On two, there we go.

unknown

Yeah, yes.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, squeak, hey, what's going on? Sorry I'm late, bud, but that you're late. Yeah. Uh, you know, the Uber driver. Athena. Uh I think uh Uber driver lets not make fun of my little honey. Little honey. So I did some research on Athena. Turns out our family still be rich. It doesn't matter how you don't know where they get the money. It has something to do with overseas. That's why we're able to travel so much. I don't want to do any business. I don't know what the business is. I don't care what you want because the thing is gonna turn out to be you can't say don't say such things. I won't say you just say another one. Anyway, this week, this week. Six hundred dollars. Six hundred dollars, ain't shit. I mean, uh wait a minute. I thought he was just an alcoholic. You were mentioning some other unless you're like, nobody's a let's say, nobody's officially you are you out in your mother? Nobody's officially out here, yeah. Maybe you shouldn't be spreading rumors. I didn't say rumors, you asked. Wait, what is it? You can say that's kind of personal. Yeah, but that's the best stuff to talk about. Oh, yeah, I get it. That's that's great. It is okay with what did I get you wanna happen? Wait, said nobody's seen him. You know what? This conversation just went up. I'm getting out of here. Wait until next time, sweet. It's time for me to go and do my Yeah, yeah. Stop it. Anyway, wait up, folks.

unknown

Bye.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, we're back. Hey. Alrighty. So enough said, we won't say anything about little dudes.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, things.

unknown

Anyway.

Bands That Toured And Clashed

SPEAKER_02

Speak for themselves. What are we doing with them? Yeah, boy, what can you do with them? So I thought it was some good topics. We're on a music subject. Right. And I was thinking, it had to be bands that toured together that didn't get along. Oh yeah. So I said, no, let me just look up if I can find anything.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, and and you're not really talking about bands like the Eagles who didn't get along with each other.

SPEAKER_02

No, no, no. I'm talking about the ones that an opening band that opened for another band that they just didn't get along on a tour. Huh. So uh first off, we got Oasis and Blur. I don't know who Blur is, I'll be honest. I do know Oasis. I knew the the brothers are always the Gallagher Brothers are always fighting amongst each other, but uh it says uh not a full tour together, but did festivals and promo circuits. The Gallagher Brothers versus Damon Albine do defined Brit. I think two interviews was basically part of the show. Well that's not what I was looking for, really. Guns and Rose and Metallica 1992 Stadium Tour. Eagle classes, late starts, and wildly different work effects. Axel Rose hated Metallica's no-nonsense approach. The tour made money, but nobody responded back to the heart of what was it in Montreal? Or someplace where they had that when Axel didn't come out and everybody else. I thought Montreal was somewhere, but I'm pretty sure Axel Rose refused to come out on time or some bullshit. Uh Van Halen and Journey. Well, there you go, right there. Those two are enough.

SPEAKER_01

Wait.

SPEAKER_02

Bills in the late 70s. Van Halen thought Journey was too polished. Journey thought Van Halen was chaotic. And basses didn't exactly overlap either. Yeah, I can imagine. Sounds like Americ! Yeah, wimpy kind of music. Uh, don't get me wrong, I like some old Journey stuff. But those two bands just don't go together. Smashing pumpkins and garbage. Torn together in the 90s. Billy Corgan rubbed a lot of people the wrong way. I hear Billy Corgan's being asshole. And we what I hear. Tension reported high, camaraderie, low. Ooh, this must have been a good one. The Who and Led Zeppelin torn together.

SPEAKER_01

Wonder why they didn't get along.

SPEAKER_02

I don't know, but I would love to vent around for that tour. Early shared builds before Zeppelin exploded. Power struggles, volume wars, and backstage competition. Mutual respect musically, first thing not so much. Wonder wonder what backstage uh Well that's a 70, so that's a a whole other lifestyle back then.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I guess back there, backstage is a lot different.

SPEAKER_02

James addiction and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Early Rollapalooza era overlap, drug issues, ego clashes, and lifestyle differences. What? Neither of them like the shower or what?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Creative tension without the band of brothers vibe. Oh. There we go. We spoke of them earlier. Motley Crew and Poison. Ah, Poison. The glam metal cage match tour era. Constantly trash talk, backstage hostility, and alpha posturing. Fans loved it, bands barely tolerated it. I don't think I've seen Poison open up the Motley Crew. Uh I've never s I'll be honest, I'm I've never seen Poison. Never seen Poison Live.

SPEAKER_01

I've never seen Poison Live.

SPEAKER_02

Motley Crew, I've seen many times. Motley. Okay, Pink Floyd and the Animals. Oh shit, we're going way back. Early UK touring days. Artistic differences and personality classes. Waters reportedly found the scene unbearable. Roger Waters. The scene. So going to a different line of work there, Roger. Yeah. Ooh. Yeah, when I looked it up, I was kind of hoping. That was kind of, you know, some fighting, some. This is just like drama.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Especially when you get the freaking Gallagher brothers from Oasis. Those two fucking guys. Yeah, right. Yeah, those all I mean, I would never follow the band, but I did read stuff about them. They were always in some kind of brothers that just didn't like each other.

SPEAKER_04

So Yeah, so I bet you a good tour to have been on.

SPEAKER_02

And I'm not talking about drama-wise, or being backstage would be like maybe Willie Nelson. Imagine what it was like on his tour bus. Well, you'd never remember.

SPEAKER_01

Who would feud with Willie Nelson? Nobody. Exactly. And uh I mean, you put people together like Snoop Dogg and Willie and You got yourself a party. Well, yeah, because they thought Afro Man.

SPEAKER_02

Throw him in.

SPEAKER_01

They are they are completely different worlds apart, but but they get along.

SPEAKER_02

Imagine imagine like partying with all those guys. Oh man. That's the happy stuff. Yeah. That would be that would be good. Speaking of.

The Corny Weed Review Countdown

SPEAKER_02

Speaking of. I looked up some uh on on the subject of marriage of Wana. Oh yeah. The devil's lettuce. I I what what if it's God's lettuce? I found some uh reviews. Reviews. Some people who actually, you know. Of course I what do you think I looked up? The real good ones or the dumb ones?

SPEAKER_01

The dumb ones. We gotta go dumb. Gotta go dumb.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, so I got a list here of the top ten corniest weed reviews. Yes, corny. And according to this, they're spiritually accurate. Okay. Number one. Bro, I smoked this and started texting my ex from 2009. Why? Gave it five stars. Didn't fix my life, but made me emotionally brave for 17 minutes.

SPEAKER_01

You've never been emotionally brave.

SPEAKER_02

I wish he would have put what he smoked to do that, so I don't ever smoke that shit. Yeah, exactly. Okay, number two. This strain had me staring at my microwave like it owed me money. Four stars. It lost a star because I forgot what I was cooking. Oh.

SPEAKER_01

Why would it lose a star? Oh, it gained me about two or three stars a month. An extra star on that? Yeah, I found it the next morning.

SPEAKER_02

Number three. I thought I was dying, but then I realized I was just really alive. Five stars. Would recommend if you like personal growth and mild panic.

SPEAKER_01

Mild panic? Just a little bit. Where am I? I have that every once in a while. You'd be driving around like where where am I? What do I do? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. I remember.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, number four. Tasted like pine, lemons, and bad decisions. Yeah, you're outside. Back to nature. Four stars. Great body high. Questionable life choices. Yeah. Oh, here we go. Five. I cleaned my entire house and then rewarded myself with nachos. Oh, I love nachos. This strain, I gave it five stars. This strain is basically a life coach. Yeah, that thing is Yeah, it was getting a little close there to me.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, B2.

SPEAKER_02

All right, number six. I swear my cat understands me now. No. Five stars. He still won't pay rent, but the vibe is there. Okay, buddy. Do you? Yeah. Number seven, had me Googling can you overdose on vibes? Four stars. Spoiler. You cannot. You can't on vibes? And only four stars. Wow. This we made music 3D. Five stars. Listen to the same song eleven times and cried on the seventh.

SPEAKER_01

Why would you listen to it anymore? I don't know. It did its purpose.

SPEAKER_02

I wish these people someone would explain a little more, the more detail. All right, number nine. Strong but polite.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Gave it four stars, knocked on my brain before rearranging the furniture. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

So did did it knock on her brain and rearrange the furniture, or did it knock on her brain and she rearranged the furniture?

SPEAKER_02

Well it doesn't say she or he. Oh, okay. It doesn't specify something. They. Yeah, they, them. Number ten. I forgot my own name, but remembered every embarrassing thing I've ever done. Oh. Five stars. Therapeutic in a threatening way. Therapeutic. Okay, Tom, I'm gonna have to cut
