Resilient Neighbors and the Mystery of Weather Control
What if the government's response to natural disasters isn't as effective as we think it should be? This episode of the MT Alternative Podcast explores that very question as Mike and Tom tackle the aftermath of hurricanes Helena and Milton. We venture through the hard-hit areas of the southern United States, from Asheville to the battered towns of Spruce Pine and Marion in North Carolina. The devastation is profound, disrupting entire communities and industries, and we find ourselves questioning the adequacy of federal aid and FEMA's response. Sharing personal stories of loss and resilience, we underscore the critical role of local support and private citizens in the recovery process.
Amidst the chaos, we shift our focus to the remarkable efforts of community-driven initiatives in states like Florida, North Carolina, and Tennessee. Conversations revolve around the importance of supporting local businesses and choosing hormone-free, locally-sourced food options. Even in times of despair, a touch of humor helps lighten the load, as we encourage listeners to contribute tangible aid, like coats and sleeping bags, through local organizations for quicker relief. Our community's spirit shines through as we hear stories of helicopter pilots and neighbors stepping up to provide crucial assistance.
We also wade into the intriguing topic of weather modification and conspiracy theories, questioning government involvement and inefficiencies. Whether it's cloud seeding or patents, skepticism abounds as we delve into public sentiments and the power of community against governmental shortcomings. Through it all, we emphasize the humanity and compassion that binds us together, encouraging listeners to engage with us through our website and social media. As we wrap up, a humorous nod to our pre-hurricane podcast delay sets the stage for more insightful discussions in the weeks ahead, promising a reflective look back at simpler times.

Hurricane Devastation and Community Support
Speaker 1Welcome back , ladies and gentlemen , to another thrilling episode of the MT Alternative Podcast , the only show where hurricanes aren't just natural disasters , they're part of the entertainment . I'm your guy , daniel , here to set the stage for our dynamic duo , mike and Tom . Today , they're sticking to their favorite topic , the swirling chaos of storms and no , I'm not talking about their personal lives . So buckle up , because they'll be talking wind speeds , water levels and , knowing these two , probably , how to survive a hurricane with just a lawn chair and a six-pack . Let's see if Mike can keep Tom from flying off into a tangent , or maybe even into the storm itself . Without further ado , here are your hosts , mike and Tom .
Speaker 2What's going on bud ?
Speaker 3what's up , mike ?
Speaker 2not a lot been crazy it has been crazy just all this hurricane shit still going on yeah , three weeks later it's kind of sad yeah , people still without power , people still without water . You have Hurricane Helena that devastated Asheville . Then you had Milton in Florida . St Pete's was St Pete's man . All the flooding .
Speaker 3Two In less than two weeks .
Speaker 2I don't know , it sucks .
Speaker 3If we would have had to go through twice what we went through the first time in less than two weeks , what would have happened ?
Speaker 2And two weeks ? No , that would suck yeah and it would have happened , and I mean that was I mean tampon the sorts , got lucky because the category five went to a three , but still the flooding . I think it was the wrong time of the day . I might be wrong water is I thought the tide was maybe that the wrong . You know the tide was higher at that time . I might be wrong . Yeah , we're not doing Blondie . That was good , though not karaoke time everything is a song , tom , but as far as Asheville , there's a couple .
Speaker 3Swannanoa what about ?
Speaker 2Old Fort . It looks like they're getting back to normal somewhat , a little bit .
Speaker 3My wife , some other lady has family in Old Fort Silva up in that area .
Speaker 2Okay .
Speaker 3And it's pretty devastating . I mean they were able to keep their house and everything but , they did lose vehicles .
Speaker 2Oh , of course , but I did see pictures on Facebook of Old Fort . The things are starting to get back to normal as much as possible . They got the main street cleaned up , which is , I guess , their main street .
Speaker 3And then Spruce Pine . That's the one I want to talk about . Spruce Pine my niece is from Spruce Pine . She was adopted one . I want to talk about Spruce Pine . My niece is from Spruce Pine . She was adopted when she was younger .
Speaker 2Okay .
Speaker 3And a family from Spruce Pine raised her that's where she was raised up and devastation . There's a list of places in North Carolina that you're able to go visit and then a list that you're not .
Speaker 2Spruce Pine is one of them .
Speaker 3You're not able to go and see , along with Asheville .
Speaker 2Look at Marion Marion man , devastation everywhere . Here's the bad thing about .
Speaker 3Marion A lot of folks don't realize that Marion is a place where they have a manufacturing plant that manufactures .
Speaker 2IVs .
Speaker 3Baxter , and it's like what one third ?
Speaker 2of all the .
Speaker 3IVs come from there .
Speaker 2I don't think the building itself got wrecked , but I think it was everything else around with trees and nobody could get to work .
Speaker 3It was awful and it still is , from what I'm understanding . It's just total devastation everywhere . Well , you know , you get the states that are affected ?
Speaker 2I mean damn Alabama , georgia , north Carolina , south Carolina , parts of Florida , tennessee and Virginia , ohio , parts of Ohio . That's just from Helena . Right , then you had Milton come in and just devastate Florida once again St .
Speaker 3Pete In less than two weeks .
Speaker 2You know like people are saying , well , houses are still standing , but they're flooded , that you know that you might as well say maybe you could save them A lot of them , hopefully , are cinder block Right .
Speaker 3Block houses . If your house is underwater , you just have to redo the inside again , but still that sucks .
Speaker 2If your house is underwater , you just have to redo the inside again , but still that sucks .
Speaker 3If your house is underwater , is it realistic to think they have power ? Of course not , oh no power , absolutely no power . Of course not , no , no , no so here's the thing in the mountains about that . The flooding just saturated everything . Well rain for days before .
Speaker 2Okay , no , power .
Speaker 3Well , rain for days before , okay , no power Now . It snowed this weekend Up in the mountains , so now Last weekend . What are they going to do ? They have no homes .
Speaker 2They have no power . There's like a tent city out there somewhere and I'm just thinking about that .
Speaker 3People . This is devastation . It's so sad , it's sad .
Speaker 2It is sad .
Speaker 3I'm telling you it just sucks .
Speaker 2I mean just thinking of what everybody went through . Here we are . We lost power .
Speaker 3Everything's kind of back to normal now . We went to work .
Speaker 2A little more west what 30 miles west ? Yeah , it's like a bomb . You go a little more west what 30 miles west , yeah , and it gets worse .
Speaker 3It's like bombs went off and nobody . There's no internet , there's no phone service , there's no water . I mean , these people are still having to boil their water . And then there was a video we watched Justin Rhodes . Yes , Justin .
Speaker 2People check this guy . It's like a journal of what he went through . Yeah , even before then he had some good things about living off the grid kind of .
Speaker 3Okay , I want to say me , I have certain ideas about what's going on . It's not . I mean FEMA , you can have your fight . Fema showed up . Fema didn't show up . Fema , this FEMA , that Funny thing is For everybody my ass . Yeah , for everybody , my ass Okay . But the funny thing about FEMA is how come we're not seeing the FEMA videos of where FEMA has stepped in and helped ? Nope , nope , it's all everybody else helping neighbors , the locals and the local people , the volunteers and the Cajun Navy , and you know it's .
Speaker 2What's the purse ?
Speaker 3The Samaritan's . Purse Samaritan's Purse and these local churches and what was the place you were telling me earlier ?
Speaker 2They're at capacity Place up for County county in Morganton and Sterling Street I can't remember the name and I apologize , they're over Capacity . They're not taking any more donations right now . There's another place in Morganton , again sorry , I heard it this morning quickly Another organization that is taking stuff . But the funny thing is , tom , I notice what people hear and , like you and I right , we don't go and take and take and take , right , we're kind of givers in that sense and I think you need .
Speaker 2That's what a lot of the thing is with people that's why we're at a lot of people are just nobody .
Speaker 2No , no , no , I have plenty . Let somebody else say there's a story about you heard it ? The old lady out in the mountains . Yep , yep , wonderful story . They finally get to her . These rescuers are up there . They want to ask her for help . She's like I don't need any help . Oh , but you need that , I don't need anything . Do you want to eat , do you want ? Would you like something to eat ? She's cooking a meal . No power , nothing living life , I mean geez .
Speaker 3These people are here . Listen , these are real people and I said it on my Facebook page , I've said it on here , I'll say it again I would much rather have a redneck posse than any kind of government officials coming and stepping in to help me . I want to . I want to homestead , I want to take care of my family in the way I know that I can . Absolutely . They cannot help me do anything . No , they can . Well , they got to charge you .
Speaker 2Okay , I have nothing right now . I lost my . What is $750 going to fucking do me ?
Speaker 3Yeah , well , it did this , did that .
Speaker 2No , no , no . Seriously , all kidding aside , If you got your home still and you lost some food or you had some issues , fine , you have nothing . Now here's $754 . Hey , get on the internet and sign up for this .
Speaker 3You're in good hands with Allstate . You have insurance on your home correct Blood insurance . 300 miles away from a freaking hurricane area . We're not supposed to have hurricanes .
Speaker 2Of course we don't have . We're in the mountains Of course we don't have some comments from the people of Florida . Well , how are you people not prepared ? We don't get these hurricanes . No , we get a little wind .
Speaker 3The coast gets them .
Speaker 2The eye of the storm never comes across to Asheville , North Carolina , the way it did this time Never comes up that far and we were obviously on the other end of it . I mean , hugo Obviously on the other end of it . You know it maybe crossed it , but you get the dirty end of the storm .
Speaker 3Oh man , dirty , side yeah . After all the rain and it's been devastating , still is devastating . There's people still missing . People are still not in touch with their loved ones Farm animals .
Speaker 2Lots of farm animals gone . There's people still missing .
Speaker 3Enormous amount of farm animals gone . But here's the other thing you've got to worry about . It's not normally that , but it's chicken houses and the southern Tysons and everything Tyson plants that are right here in my county .
Speaker 2You got them right down the road from you , don't you , yeah , and there are chicken houses Gravel roads , yep , and here's what I can get .
Speaker 3The next day , after the devastation and all the flooding and everything and the water started receding , we got to venture out a little bit away from our place , the . There was a tractor coming from one of these things and his bucket was just full of these dead chickens oh damn , it was pitiful these . The devastation was everywhere we are .
Speaker 2The unfortunate thing .
Speaker 3We're 100 miles from Asheville . I mean , imagine being in Asheville and our devastation was that . Could you imagine ?
Speaker 2quadruple of everything
Disaster Relief and Community Support
Speaker 2. I know a lot of people don't want to hear that , but you know what this is people's livelihoods . Yeah , you know chickens array , I mean people . You just don't go to a store and there's chicken and people actually have them and they raise them and they they make a living on selling these things .
Speaker 2Now I myself , I'm not going to lie . I don't go for the big , I go for the local , usually for myself . If I'm eating , right , you know , cage-free , whatever , I don't really care about that , but just as long as it's fed something decent .
Speaker 3Right , no hormones , no antibiotics and all that other crap , and not where it's going to grow six legs and four wings but I mean , hey , you got to eat people . You got to eat people , you got to eat people .
Speaker 2Well , you can eat people . There is cannibalism .
Speaker 3I have heard stories , yeah .
Speaker 2I'm not saying myself , I will eat people .
Speaker 3Well , it just depends on which one it is Maybe that didn't come out correctly Depends on who the people are .
Speaker 2I think sometimes yeah , yeah , I agree .
Speaker 3Clean name may have lived . Well , you don't want to just eat someone for a trailer park .
Speaker 2No , no , no , Just on the news over a tornado . And there we are , back to our usual selves .
Speaker 3There we go . We can't stay serious , but we do want to send a shout out to the people who are still fighting in Florida and fighting here in North Carolina and Tennessee . It's terrible , man , it just sucks .
Speaker 2I keep saying it over and over again . I hate to keep repeating myself on that .
Speaker 3It's just , and the sad part is . You feel guilty in a way don't you , you really do .
Speaker 2It's like . Here we are . Like I said , we're living our lives and we're going on , moving on and everything , and they're still wondering . Wait a minute , then you watch the news or you watch some clip and it's like shit man , there's people still going through this crap family just floated down the river , exactly .
Speaker 3I mean we're we're seeing that we're seeing . Speaking of caskets and families , my wife's family graveyard right is in Virginia .
Speaker 2We spoke about going up there a few months ago .
Speaker 3The whole road from Damascus Virginia , to Conorock is gone , gone .
Speaker 2How about the cemetery ?
Speaker 3I don't know . I haven't seen pictures of the cemetery . I just know the road from Damascus to there is completely gone , so there's no way to go to the cemetery to see . You can't get there .
Speaker 2Tom , as you're talking , and I don't mean to bring this up again , but I keep looking at these video clips of what's going on and it breaks my heart . It should . Stories of survival , asheville area . Family rescued by . It's just , you know , there's so many different stories .
Speaker 3Helicopters , and these are private , private helicopter pilots .
Speaker 2Unbelievable . Not army , not FEMA private , private helicopter , pilots .
Speaker 3Private , not Army .
Speaker 2Not FEMA .
Speaker 3Not government . These are private helicopters . It's just amazing what these folks are doing to each other .
Speaker 2Local folks .
Speaker 3That's why our bank is overflowing with supplies .
Speaker 2We rock here . That's why our bank is over north carolina rocks .
Speaker 3Yeah , we rock here they . That's why our , our places are over overwhelming with with stuff people can't give . Nobody wants to come and get it . Send it up here , send it , yeah because people goes back to that lady .
Speaker 2We said I don't need anything . Would you like something to eat ?
Speaker 3Right . Here's my suggestion to everybody If you want to donate , if you want to do something , think about this . They just got snow in a place where there's no power , no homes , no nothing . Send coats send gloves hand warmers , anything that you would send your husband out hunting with you know what's really good .
Speaker 2Send them Survival type sleep in bags .
Speaker 3Yes , yes .
Speaker 2With the foil on the inside .
Speaker 3Yes , and people just think about stuff , don't just oh , I want to send my money to Joe .
Speaker 2Wallstein , because he's going to do this . No , especially him .
Speaker 3Listen , just find a local church in your area that will distribute these funds to the right areas .
Speaker 2Or your local town even Exactly . Go on . I know a lot of people can't get on their website , but if you get in contact somehow with a local organization , they'll be a lot quicker too than FEMA will be .
Speaker 3And let me throw this out also we have a webpage .
Speaker 2Why does that sound like Forrest Gump ?
Speaker 3I don't know why but , you never know what you're going to get with me , but anyway I want to throw it out . We have a webpage , if you guys know of anything that's needed . We don't have a lot of stuff , but we have access to a lot of people we do we certainly do , if the place we the place we work out that work at is donating donate .
Speaker 3So if you have a need or know someone that does , please reach out to us on our web page , on our and everything else that you can even the facebook page .
Speaker 2We're not using much of anymore , but there's still a way yeah , it's still there , mt alternative podcast . Yep , it's a group page on facebook , even if you do a review .
Speaker 3if you do a review and say , hey guys , it's not really a review , I know somebody blah , blah , blah , do what you need to do , get it , get the message . It doesn't matter where you are , but we are figure it out , north carolina Say , hey guys , it's not really a review , I know somebody blah , blah , blah , do what you need to do . Get the message to us it doesn't matter where you are , but we are in .
Speaker 2North Carolina towards the westest part of the state .
Speaker 3Yes , so we're watching this stuff unfold in our backyard .
Government Weather Manipulation Patents
Speaker 3That being said , what's next ?
Speaker 2I think I do believe our little dudes have something to say about the matter .
Speaker 3Do they ?
Speaker 2Yeah and they're getting a little antsy .
Speaker 3Are they ?
Speaker 2Yeah , so I'm going to bring them in .
Speaker 3It's kind of like my dog when it has to go out to the bathroom .
Speaker 2Kind of like that .
Speaker 3Yeah .
Speaker 2Maybe a little worse though .
Speaker 3Yeah , okay , we'll get them in here . All right , folks , we'll be back in a bit . Hey , buddy .
Speaker 4What the hell's going on ? Oh , not a lot . What's up with you ? I got a kind of lot to say about this bullshit still going on . Yeah , there's always bullshit going on , absolutely . Let's start with the first bullshit today . Ah , shoot , go ahead . How'd your day at work go ? My day at work sucked . Yeah , bullshit , bullshit . Oh , wait a minute , let's pause this for one second second . Alrighty , sorry about that . Yeah , I'd like to pause work . Why ? Well , because it's bullshit , just like we were talking about . It's a lot of bullshit . Yeah , well , imagine this . Okay , okay , backstory . Oh great , yesterday . You're as bad as that other dumbass . Nope , backstory . Yesterday , we were working our asses off Yesterday . You're as bad as that other dumbass . Nope , backstory . Yesterday , we were working our asses off Yesterday . Oh my trouble . No , no , no , oh .
Speaker 3Oh , sorry .
Speaker 4They were still your troubles and they were still right there . We were at work . So , anyway , yesterday she came out and said oh , are you all working tomorrow ? Well , hell , no , we had business , we had other things in mind . Well , we got all these trucks coming in and we need all this space . Blah , blah , blah . Well , whose fault's that ? Not mine , not my fault . Well then , why are we there ? So , out of the goodness of our heart , we show up . We're good people like that . Yeah , for five hours we're going to help you out , but we're leaving at 12 . Aw , she says , aw , aw , no , not . Ah , yeah , we leaving . So she's like well , I guess I'm leaving too . Well , what's that tell you ? Does she run the show or do we ? I guess we do . Damn right , ah , yeah , that's lovely . Which brings me to my other point what you got . Another point yeah .
Speaker 4Oh what's it ? I'm better . You're what I'm better . Oh , I thought you said you're badder . No , like a cake batter . Do I look like fish ? No , like a cake batter , yeah . Or fish batter , no , no . Never said fish batter , it'd still be the same batter .
Speaker 4You know , I want to discuss some things . Okay , go ahead . Remember , we talked about FEMA last week . Yeah , what are they good for ? Nothing . Is this a trick question ? No , not really . I'm just wondering All the stories we hear because we're here in this great state . Okay , let's just wind this right up . Okay , go ahead . Now I'm watching this dude from Kentucky maybe . Okay , okay , go ahead . Okay , right , lots of supplies . Yeah Well , they're bringing it in , but nobody wants to give them anything . I mean , people listen , this is not Red Cross . This is not your government . This is a farmer in Kentucky that had a few surplus of mules that decided to put shit on them and bring it to you . He's helping out , yeah , yeah , like these personal people with helicopters and flying people in and out and in and out . This is America , folks . This is not your government . This is not Kamala Harris . This is not Donald Trump . This is the way it should be . This is not Kamala Harris . This is not Donald Trump . This is American people fighting with each other , standing with each other .
Speaker 1There you go .
Speaker 4Fighting a battle that this government , in my opinion , created Pretty much , pretty much . Have you heard of cloud seeding ? I have heard of cloud seeding , okay , well then , what else could it be ? Didn't those guys talk about that last week ? Yeah well , one of the most intelligent . Do you want to elaborate a little more ? One of the most intelligent conversations I ever heard him talk about ? Really , yeah Well , everybody says , well , that's stupid , that ain't really happening .
Speaker 4Bullshit , bullshit . Yeah Well , if I had a minute ? Hey , wait a minute , what ? We can pause this . I have a minute . You do have a minute . The only unfortunate thing my phone's in the car . You do have a minute . Okay , you would like to get your .
Speaker 4I thought you crashed your car . Yeah , what happened ? Well , we have insurance , but you said you totaled it . Yeah , we have insurance , oh , but it wasn't totaled . Or did you get a new car ? I got a new one . Ah , when they sent me that check for $75 , I bought me another car . Why you spent the whole $75 ? Well , yeah , my other one was paid for . Oh , okay , all right , cool , it was one of them little smart cars . Would you like to run out to your little car ? Well , here's my point . Oh , you have a point ?
Speaker 4I have a list on my phone , oh , of every time that the United States government manipulated the damn weather . That didn't happen . All you idiots . Ah , okay , but but what ? Remember when we said wouldn't there be a patent or something like that , if they could do it ? But there's many patents . Well , I have a list , starting in 18- . Of course you have a list . Of course you have a list . And it just goes on and on and it tells each time that our government did this . Would you like to retrieve this patent ? I would like to the list of patents . I should say the list . I'd like to go get it . All right , why don't you do that ? We'll take a little posy poo . Okay , sound cool . Yep , all right , excellent , be right back . Yeah , okay . Now , in this list of patents there's a lot of them , so y'all have to do your own homework . I'm just going to outline a couple of them . Just a couple . Yep , well , we're going to start .
Speaker 4Well , it all started back in 1891 . It sounds like you're making shit up already . Nope , nope , nope , okay . In 1891 , the method of producing rainfall was developed and has a patent , okay . Okay , look it up , it's right there . I'm looking at it . Well , there's a bunch of shit in between . But in 1946 , they had a smoke-producing mixture okay , that they put in the air A smudgy . Yeah , well , they did all this shit , cool , okay .
Speaker 4But let's go on down to where I was kind of born in 1967 . All right , all right . Well , in 1967 , means for communication through a layer of ionized gases Cool , okay . Well , well , that's a manipulation of weather . Anyway , let's go on down . Let's get current .
Speaker 4In 1969 , most people understand because they've been around there's a patent for a rainmaker . Then in 1969 , the aircraft dispenser . What are they doing that for Dispense ? What ? Paz ? Yeah , well , anyway , here you go . 1969 , fluidized particles dispenser . Another dispenser , yeah , titanium dioxide pigment coated with silice of aluminum .
Speaker 4Dupont , in parentheses . Oh , okay , so DuPont did all that . Why are you pointing a finger at DuPont ? Money , it's all about money , of course it is . Yeah , okay , here you go , the latest one 2001 .
Speaker 4Hurricane and Tornado Control Device . What , yeah , look this up . Courtesy of Inky Bailey , I can't believe it . Via Rachel Giangargoborio . I don't believe it . Via Rachel Giangargagoboroi . I don't believe it . Well , there you go , look into it . I watch , that's good enough . You watch what ? Watch the news , yeah , and I watch WWE wrestling , because that's not scripted at all . It isn't Okay . You just keep watching your news . Ah , excellent , I knew you'd see it my way . Yeah , and Troy'll come pick you up in a damn helicopter and park you in someone's spot . Troy still has his helicopter . Well , probably because he's hauling water back and forth to Westfield . I thought he flew it into a mountain . No , that was your story . Remember all your thoughts . It's about , no , your happiness . That's what hit a mountain . Ah , yeah , keep up . You need to keep up , all right , yeah , well , my happiness is about to hit a mountain too . Oh , why ? Well , because I'm getting ready to leave , because I'm about out of beer . Oh , that sucks . Yeah , oh , we should go get beer . Bye , all right , later .
Speaker 2Oh geez , I hope they found their gear .
Speaker 3Yeah , boy , I tell you what . Let's just stop everything and go get a beer .
Speaker 2They've ended that abruptly , man Geez .
Speaker 3Wow .
Speaker 2Yeah .
Speaker 3So if we need him to leave in the future , we know how to do it now Exactly . Hey , they're giving free beer away and he'll be gone . Beer run , Beer run . B-double-e-double-r-u-n . Beer run .
Speaker 2They made some points again .
Speaker 3They did , I got to tell you .
Speaker 2They're really serious about this .
Speaker 3I'm glad to hear that . I think this storm has really brought out the humane in them .
Speaker 2I think you're right , oh well . Well , that's a good thing . We'll see how long it lasts .
Speaker 3Yeah .
Speaker 2Who knows ? Yeah , but speaking of , on that same hurricane again Right , or the hurricanes , you know , the state's affected . We've mentioned it before again Alabama , georgia , north Carolina , south Carolina , parts of Florida , tennessee , virginia , ohio . I guess the estimated the cause of flooding , the damage and the power outage , I think it's a million dollars in aid that FEMA supposedly supplied . Did we believe that ? Well , and how did they supply this $210 million ? Who gets this $210 million , right ? Is it the people ? Or are they distributing it to who knows who ?
Speaker 3After the CEO probably gets his $1 million or $2 million .
Speaker 2Oh right , right , right . Then there's a little bit left over to hand out .
Speaker 3Yeah , then there's a little .
Speaker 2Where people get their 700 .
Speaker 3He got butter sandwiches and a damn apple .
Speaker 2Bologna and cheese sandwiches .
Speaker 3And a little carton of freeze-dried milk .
Weather Modification Technologies and Impacts
Speaker 3Oh , but I guess , in addition to the physical damage , y'all listen , I understand there are people out there helping people and I'm not making light of this at all , but come on .
Speaker 2We said it before the majority of the locals volunteers .
Speaker 3We have sat here and literally in western North Carolina and watched all this happen . You can listen to all your ABC , NBC , CBS , all this news coverage . Oh , they're lying . Fema's on the ground . Okay , there's a difference between being on the ground and being competent . Enough said , Go on .
Speaker 2Well , who knows the locations and the terrain better than the locals ? People that have lived there survived there . For how many generations have the families been there ? Yeah , these people know what they're doing . So what FEMA brought in ?
Speaker 3flatbed trucks and made a bridge .
Speaker 2Was that FEMA ? No , it wasn't Okay exactly .
Speaker 1That's what I'm saying , what Did ?
Speaker 3they bring in flatbed no-transcript .
Speaker 1What did ?
Speaker 3they bring in flatbed . No , that was the hillbillies Exactly . That was the people around them and said we got to do this , we got to figure out a way , and they did I mean they're making roads by themselves . This is so passionate I mean right now , as far as we know too .
Speaker 2Tom . As of mid-October this is what we know so far At least 123 fatalities have been reported alone in North Carolina man In the state with the highest death toll coming from the storm . Most of these fatalities occurred in , was it Buncombe County Buncombe , buncombe County , yeah , which saw at least 72 confirmed deaths . The storm led to catastrophic flooding , especially in smaller towns like Swannanoa , which we mentioned before . Asheville , which we mentioned , and we just watched some videos of that . The farmer there what was his name ? Justin Rhodes 75 acres of land pretty much wiped out a lot of his stuff , a lot of his livestock wiped out a lot of his stuff .
Speaker 3a lot of his livestock had sheep , had cows .
Speaker 2Saved a lot of his bigger livestock .
Speaker 3Had chickens , pigs , a lot of chickens .
Speaker 2Then we saw the musician couple trying to get out of Asheville to Charlotte .
Speaker 3They were on their way from . They came from Phoenix , right .
Speaker 2Someplace right .

Today , the little dudes brought up an interesting topic on whether modification and manipulation technologies . We thought that was pretty interesting . The little dudes did have some patents , but we have our research correspondent , sarah will fill you in on rest so you people can do your own research . She'll be naming some patents with numbers to check out . So just listen . And this is before Daniel comes in with his little sarcastic goodbye . So we just wanted to share this with you .

Pre-Hurricane Podcast Delay
Speaker 5.
Speaker 1All right , folks , that's going to do it for today's episode , but don't worry , next week we're bringing you the podcast that was supposed to air before Hurricane Helena decided to throw her little tantrum . Yeah , we thought . Hey , what's a better time to release a podcast than during mass chaos and property destruction ? But you know , then we remembered maybe not everyone wants to listen to Mike and Tom's hot takes while rescuing their lawn furniture from a tree . So we held off . Join us next week as they deliver all the pre-hurricane wisdom . That only feels slightly outdated , but hey , maybe it'll make you nostalgic for the simpler times of last month . That's all from me , daniel , signing off . Stay safe , or as safe as you can be , and see you next time on the MT Alternative .
