Rainy Porch Talk And Work
SPEAKER_01Hello, Tom.
SPEAKER_02What's up, Mike?
SPEAKER_01Oh, another porch time with the MT Alternative Podcast. And lovely, lovely rain. Lovely. Well, we we needed rain. I just didn't expect this much rain.
SPEAKER_02Well, yeah, there's been quite a bit. Some downpour.
SPEAKER_01Still more coming. Memorial weekend.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it's great.
SPEAKER_01Thanks to everybody. But the bird's still chirping over here.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Still trying to kick in. We said no guests.
SPEAKER_01He won't take no for an answer. No. It's pretty obvious. So, Mike, how's your week went? Oh, so far so good? Well, work. Cool. Yeah. Work today. There you go. So you'll be in for a surprise Tuesday when you go in, Tom.
SPEAKER_02Oh, there's a lot of uh stuff for me to grab, I think.
SPEAKER_01There's a bunch of TBR house, and all the full boxes I did today was many more. Cool.
SPEAKER_02So I'll have something to do.
SPEAKER_01Yep. Your racks are almost full, except for the uh side eight.
SPEAKER_02Awesome. I'm excited about work.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah. Kelly went in today. He had over 600 pieces when he left yesterday. Yeah. Still had 400 and something when he went in today. He pulled almost all of it and then palletized. Nobody palletized. So two shifts pulled 300 pieces. Well, no, one shift, because there was no third shift last night.
SPEAKER_02Oh, right, right, right, right.
SPEAKER_01Okay, right. 200 pieces. That's crazy. Between two people.
SPEAKER_02We have wonderful employees.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. That's what it is there. Get what you pay for. What the hell are we doing?
SPEAKER_02That's absolutely wonderful.
SPEAKER_01But, anyways, gloomy, gloomy day.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it kind of is gloomy, and speaking of gloomy.
NASCAR Grief And Perspective
SPEAKER_02I'd like to just mention number 18. Nice car.
SPEAKER_01That's right, that's right. Kyle Bush.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. He was a fun person. He was a fun person to fight against when you didn't like him on the track.
SPEAKER_01I wasn't a per particularly not a fan of Kyle Bush. But yeah.
SPEAKER_02Nobody deserves what happened. I mean, we don't even know what happened.
SPEAKER_01No, just strange that the little bit I hear he called for a said to have a doctor right now.
SPEAKER_02I I don't know.
SPEAKER_01I just put out blood and this and that.
SPEAKER_02And I mean maybe an anter. We we just don't know. But uh prayers go out to his family. Absolutely. And his fan base, which is devastated.
SPEAKER_01Second second NASCAR driver in less than a year.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01But uh strange things, jeez.
SPEAKER_02But yep.
SPEAKER_01Thanks for bringing that up, Tom. Almost forgot about that. No problem.
SPEAKER_02It's been on my mind because I feel bad as much as I always say, yeah, I pull for Kyle Bush. Hit the wall, Kyle, hit the wall. You know, I that's racing. Right. But that's it's when life comes, when life really comes at you, everybody pulls together and we're all people.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And uh true.
SPEAKER_01We just have to be careful with too bad uh other sides couldn't think the same. Yeah, good yeah, good point. Oh well. So anything really exciting been happening? Like in
Strange News And Dark Headlines
SPEAKER_01the world? I haven't been paying attention, I'm not gonna lie.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, the only thing I've really paid attention to is the 28 people from Disney that got arrested for child pornography. Oh, yeah, I did see that little thing of that. Yeah. But uh which is a shocker. I mean, whoever thought Disney, oh my goodness.
SPEAKER_01What else is weird? I just heard happen last night, New York at the shipyard. There was a couple explosions. Yeah. Even a fire marshal, I guess, has a fractured skull or something. Yeah, because there was people trapped inside this one plate. I don't know. I didn't get all the details this morning, but it was like, what the hell's going on? There's stuff going around everywhere. Yeah. So and like I said, haven't really paid attention much. I've just been listening to music. Yep. Even at work. Music. Music.
SPEAKER_02It's a universal language.
SPEAKER_01Once in a while, a couple of different podcasts.
SPEAKER_02And every once in a while a commercial. Yeah, well, lots of those.
SPEAKER_01But uh, let's get to the real
Eagles Memories From The Farm
SPEAKER_01deal. Let's get to what we want to talk about this week.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01You wanted to talk about the Eagles.
SPEAKER_02I can't tell you a lie.
SPEAKER_01Oh. I I get it. Little plan words. Okay. I get it, Tom.
SPEAKER_02You want to start off why, and then I'll give a little background or well, I think the reason I picked the Eagles this time is because it like Dr. Hook, it was like a huge part of my childhood with different I had so many siblings that they were all age. Uh certain ones didn't listen to this and certain ones listened to that. Right, right. And so I got uh just a genre of everything. And uh my younger siblings, not younger than me, but younger before me, they they were into the Eagles. Okay. And so that was a big thing for them, which brought me into it. And um brings me to a a story that I remember when I was on the farm. My grandfather had wheat and we would hire the Weed? Wheat. Oh, wheat, okay. My grandfather didn't do weed, yeah. Okay. We all did that for him. But anyway, he had custom cutters that would just come and they would harvest our fields for us for a certain amount of money, whatever Pa paid him. But they would come every year and they would do different people around us, so they were in town for three or four weeks until they were done. Well, I met this guy named Brian that drove one of the combines, and he let me ride with him and get in the combine and taught me everything I know about a combine. And he had a cassette player in there, and well, of course, he had the Eagles, and that's what my sister listened to. I said, Hey, I know them, let's listen to them, and he'd put them on and we'd listen, and it would be pretty cool. But that just takes me back to the farm days.
SPEAKER_01Nostalgia.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that's what we're hearing about. We're hearing about nostalgia. Yeah. But um the Eagles have always been one of my favorite bands. They have good songs that I remember. Now, the early years I don't remember too well, and they didn't just grab a hold of me. But like the 70s, right? That's where the Eagles like greatest hits and and different things came through.
SPEAKER_01But I remember hearing songs not knowing who it was until my friend Tim had the Eagles' greatest hits when that came out. Right. And that's when I started really look getting into the Eagles. I think that was the album that put put a lot of people in the seat. I mean, I've heard there were songs I've heard before, uh Lion Eyes. Yeah. So, you know, I'm familiar with those on the radio. Exactly. But then once I heard the album, I'm like, oh, okay, that's who this is. And I'm gonna, you know, back then I was like, hey, these guys look pretty cool. You know, you're a kid. Like But uh, that's how I started getting into the Eagles. I mean, the Eagles are great, harmonizing the story behind them. Let's get into a little background of the Eagles first.
SPEAKER_02There you go.
SPEAKER_01All right.
How The Eagles Built Their Sound
SPEAKER_01I I'm sure everybody knows by now, but we'll just give a quick uh little ban bio. The Eagles formed in Los Angeles in 71, emerging from the fertile Southern California music scene that blended country folk, rock, and pop into a sound that defined the 70s American radio. But the oh yeah, here we go. The original lineup, I was gonna say something, but it's right here. The original lineup featured Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Bernie Leadon, and Randy Meisner, all of whom had previously worked backing musicians for Linda Ronstadt. Yep. That shared background gave the band a tight vocal blend, a strong sense of songcraft, right out of the gate. Earlier albums including Eagles 1972, Desperados 73. That's another song I remember back in the day. Leaned heavily into country rock storytelling, but it was 1974's On the Border, and 1975's One of These Nights that pushed them into full mainstream stardom. By this point, guitarist Don Fetter, oh Felder, excuse me, I'm sorry. Yeah, Felder. Yeah. Had joined, helping steer the band toward a harder rock edge. The Eagles reached their creative and commercial peak with 1976's Hotel California. See, I think the next album was good too. But anyways, an album often interpreted as a dark commentary on fame, excess, and a California dream. The title track became one of the most dissected songs of rock history, while the album itself cemented the Eagles as one of the biggest bands on the planet. And we all know how the Eagles were, but especially Don Henley and Glenn Frey. We hear a lot of stories about them being assholes. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Everybody was so talented, like shh, it just they fought all the time.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, but it was mainly those two idiots. It was. You know, and I'm gonna say idiots because of all the stories I've heard, it's always something bad. Idiotic. Yep. Yeah, what sucks too is Glenn Frey's death. Yeah. Remember him on Miami Vice? Do you remember that episode?
SPEAKER_02I do remember that episode.
SPEAKER_01And that song You Belong to the City. That was a good song from him. Now I liked Glenn Frey's voice over Don Henley. Don Henley's got a lot of good hits with his voice, but C and I did too. And then Randy Miser.
SPEAKER_02Joe Walsh. I like Joe Walsh too.
SPEAKER_01Take It to the Limits, Randy Miser, that's a great song.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, it was. And one of the early, early songs that they had, um Peaceful, Easy Feeling. Oh, another good song. One of my very favorite as a kid.
SPEAKER_01Like I said, if you go back and listen to all that older stuff, I mean, and like you said, Tom, it brings back a lot of nostalgia. Yeah. Because, you know, when uh the long run came out, I believe that's the one that has the the Greeks don't want no freaks. Right. Remember we were partying, playing that song, being out somewhere and that song come on and everybody's getting into it. It was one of those, it's a party type song. Yeah, it really is. It was beer all over the dance floor. The band was playing rhythm and boos. Great lyrics in that. That song is freaking fun. Yep. But after that, oh remember the we're not touring, we won't tour again until Hell Freezes Over. I guess Hell Froze Over, Eagles, because you toured a few times since then.
SPEAKER_02Wasn't there wasn't that uh tour called when Hell Freezes Over because that was that's what's funny about it.
SPEAKER_01Well at least they yeah, at least they used it today. Exactly.
SPEAKER_02That was funny. But yeah.
SPEAKER_01Love the Eagles though.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, they were a good band.
SPEAKER_01Joe Walsh.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01When he came in, he had his own good sound. And then his solo. Joe Walsh seemed like the more fun guy.
SPEAKER_02Down at earth, yeah, just the fun guy. Yep, yep. Wanted to go out and have a good time. Life's been good to me so far. Let's rip out the hotel walls.
SPEAKER_01My Maserati does 185. I lost my license. Now I don't drive. Joe. I have accountants pay for it all. Yep, there you go.
SPEAKER_02That's awesome. But you know what I really liked about the Eagles though? It just it touched base with everybody else. I mean well well so many age groups were touched by the Eagles. Oh, true. When you when you think about it, I mean it hit the Oh, it's one of those bands that everybody pretty much lost.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Maybe not everybody.
SPEAKER_02And even now.
SPEAKER_01There's something for everybody too with the Eagles.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, and even now, people are going to still see the few remaining remaining people. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah. And Vince Gill's with him now, too, right?
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. I forgot about old Vince.
SPEAKER_01I think Glenn Frey's son was touring with him for a bit, but I don't know what happened there.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. So that, you know, the Eagles, man.
SPEAKER_01They had their Who's the bassist uh that took over. Timmy Schmidt. I think that's his name, something like that. He's been there, something like that. Yeah, he's been there for a while now, too. He sings that song, I Can't Tell You Wow. Look at that falsetto voice.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. We worked with a guy that had that great balsetto voice.
SPEAKER_01We do?
SPEAKER_02We used to. Who is he? Or was he? Yeah. Fuzzy?
Favorite Tracks Party Stories
SPEAKER_02Yeah, was he? Oh, see now. I didn't have a nickname for him. So I had to wait a minute.
SPEAKER_01Ah, you know. Could have hit the wall a few times. MK. There you go. Oh boy. Yep.
SPEAKER_02So this is an awesome day, actually.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02In the last few days was hot. 90 degrees, 95.
SPEAKER_01Dry weather for almost two months.
SPEAKER_02Barely at 60. It's awesome.
SPEAKER_01Now it feels like monsoon season. Yeah. So this isn't bad right now. It's drizzly. Yeah. I mean, if it's gonna do it for the weekend, this is how it should be. The ground doesn't need to be flooded. Exactly. Like I said, what, almost two months of a drought.
SPEAKER_02I need to get my grill out so I can get my smoker going.
SPEAKER_01Um try to smoke some. Boss at work might be making some burnt ends this weekend. Oh, pork? Yep. Wow. Yep.
SPEAKER_02He said he got him a new smoker. Smoker. Yeah, new smoker there. So yeah, he seems to be a pretty cool dude. Yeah, I like him. I'm I'm I just feel bad for him. Yeah, it's just throw him into the damn middle of the water.
SPEAKER_01I'll tell you right now, he's handling it better than I would. Me too. I'd already killed somebody. I'm surprised neither of us have yet. So we've uh done with the Eagles or Well, do you have any memories about the Eagles? Oh, but basically, like I said, just Tom, my memories when I was listening to Eagles were basically keg parties. Or parties at someone seriously. Exactly. Not gonna lie, that's most of my memories of listening to the Eagles. Well, and don't get me wrong, I can kick back now and oh shit.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, well, I guess I'd better say this part. I guess I better say this part about the Eagles. Go ahead. They were actually a part of when I started uh experimenting with herbal generation uh refreshments. The devil's lettuce? No. Oh no. Oh, okay. God's lettuce. Oh, okay. Yeah, he gave it to us to use as we needed.
SPEAKER_01Um yeah. Is that what you're saying? Mm-hmm. Okay, cool. Yeah. Your story and you're sticking to it?
SPEAKER_02Yep. But um, you know, the Eagles were part of that, and it was in that era, and and uh Witchy Woman and all them things. But yeah, I love the Eagles, and there's just so many good songs that I can't rem, you know, name them all, right? Of course, but but yeah, I guess that's pretty much what I have to say about the Eagles. Yeah, everybody, like I said, Tom, everybody loves the Eagles. Sure. Standing on a corner in Winslow, Arizona. Have you ever been to Winslow, Arizona? There's nothing there but a post office and a gas station.
SPEAKER_01Seven girls on my mind. Two that want to stone me. No.
SPEAKER_02Four that want to own me, two that want to stone me, one says she's a friend of mine. Bullshit. Yeah, I never met you before in my life. Take it easy.
SPEAKER_01Good song. Yep. Glenn Frey.
SPEAKER_02Love it.
SPEAKER_01They were so good. Yep. Not gonna worry about pauses and something comes to mind, something comes to mind. That's just the it's porch time, man. Yep, porch time. Whatever thoughts hit us. Yeah, just chill. Alright, Tom.
Porch Break And Return
SPEAKER_01I think right now's a good time to drop in for the little dudes.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, they're just breaking down the door to get in here.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Oh, oh well. Folks will be right back.
SPEAKER_00What the hell are you talking about?
Weather Whiplash Wildlife And Neighbors
SPEAKER_01A little more comfy now? Yeah? Okay. Oh yeah. Mr. Yeah, I'm coming prepared.
SPEAKER_02Nope. Well, when I left the house, it said it was supposed to be 67 degrees. I'm thinking, almost 70. Yeah, that's good. It haven't hit 60 yet.
SPEAKER_01I don't think it has. I don't think it has at all. Oh boy. I'm kind of curious.
SPEAKER_02That's 58 degrees. See? Idiots. 67.
SPEAKER_01We went from freaking middle of summer.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, 95 degrees to early spring or fall.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. One of the two. Oh well. But it's all good. It's like monsoon weather.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. But we needed the rain.
SPEAKER_01We absolutely did. My grass was brown. Yeah. That's very green. Very, very green. Very pretty. It's amazing what a little rain or a lot of rain does. Yep. Yep. Then the old bullfrog down the road that I saw someone hit.
SPEAKER_02Big old bullfrog.
SPEAKER_01Good old Kermit. Sorry. I moved it to the side of the road. He'll be food for whatever's gonna eat him.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, somebody over there go get him. Exactly.
SPEAKER_01This dumbass turkey was out back over there last night. Poor and rain. I'm watching it. I'm like, what the frick's?
SPEAKER_02Why don't they get out of the rain?
SPEAKER_01Maybe they like the rain. Yeah. Who knows? Maybe you needed a bath, shower. Stop the rain. Not a turkey. No. The turkey will not stop the rain today.
SPEAKER_02There's just a lot of good stuff going on right now in the news. There is? Yeah. We have uh what's his name got thrown off of MBC ABC last night.
SPEAKER_01Oh you're talking about late show with uh Colbert or whatever his name is. Dumbass.
SPEAKER_02I don't know how to do it.
SPEAKER_01I saw a video where Donald Trump threw him in a dumpster. Yeah. And then dance. I'm sorry I missed that. Yeah. Yeah. Well, at least I saw the clip. Me too. Stuff and stupid memes that come out. Yeah, that was awesome.
SPEAKER_02That was all over everything. Yeah. But yeah, just crazy stuff going on all over the place.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it's fucked up times, Tom. The Iran shit still going on. I hate to say it, but I just say blast the bastards.
SPEAKER_02Let them go have it, yeah. I mean, this is we're not negotiating anymore. Nope. I don't understand.
SPEAKER_01I don't appreciate high gas prices either, but.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, exactly.
SPEAKER_01I mean But we all knew. Here's the thing that cracks me up, though. When Biden was in and gas was over $4. Oh, it's just this. The president doesn't, you know, it's not his fault.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, the president doesn't do determine gas prices.
SPEAKER_01With that Gulf uh moon or whatever the hell, open that shit up, you have no problems. That's what's holding everything up.
SPEAKER_02Yep. Yep.
SPEAKER_01Alright. Is that plane gonna crash?
SPEAKER_02I'm not sure if it's a plane or if it's a yeah.
SPEAKER_01It doesn't sound good.
SPEAKER_02Doesn't sound good at all.
SPEAKER_01Especially over my house.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, don't don't come over here.
SPEAKER_01Can't see anything to the yoga cast. Yeah, well, that would be exciting. We'd be right here. Right here, but to go live. Yeah, we'd be live then. Well, I hope we'd be live. See those dead leaves over there across Mark's house? I do. Alright, one night. It's got dry as hell. There's a roaring fire back there. Mark from down there comes over, we're talking. Next thing it's like snowing out. Ash everywhere. Like, what's he doing? He's burning all kinds of shit. Wow, he about burnt the tree down. Pretty much. Goodness. Yeah, he ended up walking down. He's like, what the hell? I go. And as we're talking, next thing it's like ash everywhere. I'm like, oh my. Yeah, it's comical. But hey, that's my neighbor.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, we we all have good neighbors.
SPEAKER_01He is a good guy, too, man. Help you out with anything. Yep.
SPEAKER_02He helped me with happy.
SPEAKER_01Got a lot of good neighbors. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02That's what it's all about.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I thought the hokey pokey was what it was all about. No, that's when you turn yourself about. Well, that's what it's all about. Right. Well, that's the hokey pokey. Right. But it had nothing to do with neighbors. Oh, but you said that's what it's all about. Right. The hokey pokey's what it's all about.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but if you're a neighbor and you do this other stuff, then it's that's what it's all about, is helping each other. You can do the hokey pokey, it's all good. Maybe you do it together. Yeah. Then that would be kind of what it's all about, but there'll be other stuff about it too.
SPEAKER_01You could be neighborly doing the hokey pokey.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. We can just be friends. Doing the hokey pokey. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Okay then.
SPEAKER_02That went somewhere.
SPEAKER_01I'm
Fostering Dogs Family And Fireworks
SPEAKER_01a little sad, Tom. Yeah, I can imagine. I'm a little sad. We were fostering those chants, fostering them. We've had them for what, four months now? At least, yeah. And someone's finally interested, but I've kind of gotten so used to them being here.
SPEAKER_02I couldn't understand how I'm some ripped that. I I I couldn't. I I really couldn't foster.
SPEAKER_01Well, that's why I told the wife, no more, can't do this.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02It would bother me because we you know us with the six dogs that we have. I mean, just dogs are are are man. They're people to me.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. They're part of the family. Hey, furry children. Yep. But uh yeah, this dog grew on me. Old pit bull. Got some medical issues. You're so ferocious. Yeah, right? Big baby. Yeah, he's something else. I'm kind of hoping this things don't work out.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I'm pulling for you.
SPEAKER_01Some of the girls at work. Yeah, because I like him too. Hey, doesn't he chill. He doesn't bother anybody. And then one thing I like about the big dog compared to our little dogs. I could just let him go out. Yeah. He's gonna sit there and have to worry. Where's that little one? Where'd it go? Yep. And my wife, don't don't let a hawk get it.
SPEAKER_02Well, out there where I live, yeah, you gotta worry about stuff like that.
SPEAKER_01We had one up in the in the trees were here one time. Take grace. Okay, hon.
SPEAKER_02Don't yell at loud, then the hawk will know where it's at.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, right.
SPEAKER_02Don't point it out. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Shh. The hawk already has it zoomed in. Yeah.
unknownShh.
SPEAKER_01So what do you plan on doing this weekend?
SPEAKER_02This weekend is a restful weekend.
SPEAKER_01The weather's not the greatest, so for outdoor, I think.
SPEAKER_02I'm gonna try really hard to uh smoke uh pork one. Oh, I'm just okay. No, I'm good. I thought we did that all the time. Yeah, I don't have to try real hard to smoke that. Okay. Uh but the pork horn with the weather and everything, I might just have to wait again. But uh I've been trying to cook this pork one for a couple weeks now. But with the accident and all hasn't been thawed or anything. No. It's still in the freezer. That's the problem. Yeah, yeah. I can't I can't find a day where I gotta take it out and thaw it where it'll be ready like t tomorrow or Monday. But if it's gonna be this, I just don't know if I wanna sit out there and try to keep a fire stoked in this wet, dreary ass weather.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. I mean, uh temperature-wise, I don't mind it. No, it's wonderful. It's just that damp, moist.
SPEAKER_02Anyway. Yep. Yeah. Yeah. We like that. Damn.
SPEAKER_01We're just listening to the birds.
SPEAKER_02I hear 'em. Isn't it funny how you hear them but you don't see them?
SPEAKER_01Seem to hear them more in these damn micro for these microphones.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, well, that's because we have all this great equipment that we use.
SPEAKER_01Excellent. Picks up too much. I hear wee-woo. Wee woo, wee woo, wee woo. Looks like uh neighbor needs to mow their lawn there soon.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Kind of funny how uh he's the one that works all mowers.
SPEAKER_01It's true, isn't it? Yeah. My neighbor thinks we're crazy. There they are. There's those two idiots again on the porch. On the porch. Microphones and headphones. Idiots. Hey we are we are idiots, but we have fun being idiots. This is awesome.
SPEAKER_02It is, it's just cool.
SPEAKER_01It's cool. Yeah. It's cool. That's what we do. I guess, like you said, this is our uh release.
Work Recovery Trips And Milestones
SPEAKER_01It is.
SPEAKER_02Trust me, I've had a lot to have to release lately. I understand. But I put a harness on yesterday and felt pretty good about it.
SPEAKER_01Oh yes, this is true. So hang on, you're telling me I'm like, uh I don't know what to tight on, I don't know what I can do.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I'm like, well, here it comes. And the bad thing about it is, just because I can wear a harness, I'm freaking about the trucks. Still. But I gotta be getting better.
SPEAKER_01As long as you can move them, we don't care.
SPEAKER_02Right.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, you don't have to be on the truck. Well, still. Just to move them. Well, look, it took me, Kelly, and Josh less than two hours to unload the box truck.
SPEAKER_02Right. Right, that was good. I wish we'd always get just box trucks. Nothing else.
SPEAKER_01I got plenty of room to put those up. I do. There's plenty. Especially after I just took a shitload down.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, there's plenty to put up, that's for sure.
SPEAKER_01There's one part of five that's op wide open, uh two, four.
SPEAKER_02See, and that's uh a big reason why I didn't show up today was because I never got grace to print me papers. For Tuesday, so I really didn't know what to yeah. I could have pulled it up on my computer, but still. That's that takes forever.
SPEAKER_01Well, you'll have fun Tuesday. I know. I'm gonna go in and I gotta pull all that uh close out shit. Right. Are we boring people with uh work talk? Probably. Probably. Yeah. I'd say we get on a rant or going down some road, and this is where we it leads us.
SPEAKER_02But we're on the porch. This is what we talk about on the porch.
SPEAKER_01This is true. This is porch time.
SPEAKER_02But I know where it is right here where it's a little bit more. We love porch time.
SPEAKER_01I got my trip coming up in a month. Oh, yeah, the trip. Going up north to see mom and visit some local establishments.
SPEAKER_02There you go. Awesome.
SPEAKER_01See what they have. Yep.
SPEAKER_02Oh. Need I forget, let me give a shout out to my grandson who just turned in yesterday.
SPEAKER_01Happy birthday, Corbin.
SPEAKER_02Happy birthday, Corbin. Hope you had a great vacation. Slash birthday.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, hopefully the weather isn't too shitty up there in Tennessee. Not too bad.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Now my wife sent me a bunch of pictures about where they were. And so that's where she's gonna go in July. She wants to go there. To them mini cabins.
SPEAKER_01So that's where can that's where some other woman's going? Yeah. Are you gonna go too? I'm probably gonna go. Okay, well, you said that's where she's gonna go. That's where she wants to go. Well, you said that's where she's gonna go. Yeah, okay. See, there's a difference. There is a little difference. And I'm like, oh, she's going on vacation without you? Well, it'll probably be a vacation for her.
SPEAKER_02It probably would.
SPEAKER_01Hey, I like this. Hey, wait a minute. I'm not ever going by. Just by herself? Wait a minute. No family. Uh you might like that, Tom, for a weekend. I'd like that for a week. If you knew everybody was safe. I'd like that for a week. No, you'd stop freaking out. Yeah, I would. Of course I mean have your dogs with you too. Oh, yes. Not just by yourself. No, I would have or at least one dog. Yeah. You gotta have one, at least one. Daisy would be my Okay, but there you go.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, she she's the one that. I don't know. I didn't want her when we got her.
SPEAKER_01What I take when she's gone now. No, I would probably take Grace. Yeah, she's a sweetheart. Yep. She is a sweet dog. Scooby's a pain in the ass. Yeah. And Tito just walks around aimlessly. I don't know what he's doing, where he's going.
SPEAKER_02He's like, I'm just here. Here I am. That's what I'm gonna do. Yeah, I think I'll walk around aimlessly for a while.
SPEAKER_01You know what I like to discuss next time?
SPEAKER_02I would like to know.
SPEAKER_01Speaking of nostalgia before, some of the concerts we've been to. Yeah.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_01That's what I like to talk about. Because I've been to some good ones.
SPEAKER_02That would be a good idea.
SPEAKER_01I don't have many stories, but I do have many stories from back in the day. Oh, me too. Me too. My life when I hit 30, 35, kind of got really boring, so. But as you can tell, we talk about work. Or I talk about work. Yeah, we do. But I love music. Music, music, music. So I think that's what I want to do. Yeah. Maybe get some songs.
SPEAKER_02Different ones that jog on memory and yep.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I think that's what we're gonna do. I think I want to take a little trip down memory lane. Yeah, we want to do that. Wait a minute. We can call it Memory Lane FM.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Sounds good. Okay, and I think uh that's gonna be the title of our new podcast, Tom. It'd be MT Alternative Podcast, Memory Lane FM. Yes, that sounds awesome. And uh another note, by the time this probably comes out, it's probably either 4th of July, right a little after, or before, so wanna wish everyone a safe and uh happy 4th of July.
SPEAKER_02Yes. Be safe, please, and don't light fireworks around dry wood. I mean protect the animals. Exactly.
SPEAKER_01You know, hey, I know it's fun. We all like booms and stuff, but you know, we gotta remember people with PTSD too.
SPEAKER_02Yes, and animals and just the b the dogs, they just freak out.
SPEAKER_01I'm hoping the wife comes back with the dog. But anyways, again too. Again, but uh yeah, getting a little drearier, so if we'll end this porch time right now.
